Seems Reasonable to Me

Not everyone was in awe of Saint Gritty of Thunderbird when she came to Bristol.

The spotlight has landed on middle-aged men who taunted and threatened a teenage climate activist when she visited Bristol.

Once again, the framing is done to ensure that any dissent can be batted away with the convenient ad hom, thereby ignoring any actual arguments gainsayers might put froward. Hence the terms such has “denier,” “troll,” and “consensus.” None of this helps the debate, but then, these charlatans aren’t interested in debate, because there is nothing to debate. The consensus is in and trolls are just middle-aged white men who are denying the science. Never mind that any scientist who dares to stray from the orthodoxy is excommunicated as a heretic – this is the behaviour of a church not science – or that science does not work on consensus, or that the whole rotten thing is riddled with corruption caused by politics and public funding, hence cherry picking and vicious attacks on anyone who dares to mention the emperor’s clothes.

They questioned the validity of climate science, suggested school children should not be able to go on strike, complained about disruption in the city and noted that young people have carbon footprints.

All of these points are perfectly reasonable. If a parent takes their child out of school, they will be fined due to the irreparable damage to the child’s education (apparently), but a rally to be indoctrinated by an equally indoctrinated messiah is all okay it would seem. And, yes, these people all turned up to decry the very things that they use to live comfortable lives. They will all have been taking selfies with their smartphones and ignoring the ecological cost of that, the homes they live in that are heated by fossil fuels, the cars their indulgent parents drive them to school in and so on. Not to mention of course that doing this on a weekday meant more traffic congestion than would have happened if it had been conducted at the weekend, so adding to pollution in the city.

Hypocrisy, thy colour is green.

Personally, I’m sick to the back teeth of seeing this obnoxious, angry little troll peddling her junk science every time I look at a news site. But I know that her time will pass. Eventually the press will tire of her and she will be abandoned. There will, likely as not, follow a descent into substance abuse, more mental illness and an early demise. It is the way of things. Sad, I know, but those to blame will never engage in sufficient introspection in order to see where the evil really lies, for they will have made their money from the generous government subsidies that fund their nasty little scam. Gritty will merely be another victim and now a martyr, so will once again be of use to them.

Green, thy name is cynicism.

  1. I share your combination of outrage and sadness: outrage at the anti-scientific emotionalism of these imbeciles, and sadness at the damage being done to GT by her handlers. Her parents in particular have a lot to answer for.

The Mail covers the damage to College Green here:

Use the ‘slide me’ function on the second photo to see before and after.

A GT supporter said that the grass would grow back. So that justifies the destruction of a lovely green, does it? And they call themselves environmentalists. The hubris of these idiots is astounding. I hope that nemesis is not too long in coming.

  2. Yes i’m sick of seeing this mentally ill little shit venerated. Its all junk science.

  3. Greta Tantrum aside, there is a Go Fund Me to repair the damage caused by the Ecoloons. It has already raised £14,211 of the estimated £20,000 needed to repair the green.

Personally, I think the Council should be suing the Ecoloons, but the Swampies won’t have any money (except the welfare they thieve from the state) and the “hidden forces” behind Gretchen Thundercloud can’t be forced to pay for it because that is the reason they are hidden.

  4. I completely agree with your prediction for Greta’s future. Possibly suicide as she realises the ” world is doomed anyway “. Then her parents will need to take some responsibility.

  5. She is pure emotion. The science simply isn’t true. I looked at some old printed text books. Compare the data points in a modern one and it is obvious that the numbers have been changed aka falsified. It’s a scam.
