Actually, It Doesn’t…

change my opinion of you.

Actress Miriam Margolyes has sparked outrage by admitting she hoped Boris Johnson would die when he was struck down by coronavirus.

The Harry Potter star, 78, made the shocking comments in a rant on Channel 4 comedy chat show The Last Leg on Friday night.

It comes just days after the Prime Minister revealed that doctors were preparing to announce his death in case he lost his battle with the virus, as he admitted he was ‘a lucky man’.

But in an incredible outburst, Margolyes told viewers: ‘I wanted him to die’.

This is the honest part, right here and it says much about her. I’m not impressed with Boris Johnson’s handling of this crisis, but I never wished him dead. Had – heaven forfend – Jeremy Corbyn won the election in December, I would have been exactly the same. I deplore the man’s politics, but I don’t wish him dead. It takes a particularly nasty underlying personality to do that and Margoyles has outed herself as such. Hence the outrage.

I mean, I had difficulty not wanting Boris Johnson to die. I wanted him to die. Then I thought that will reflect badly on me and I don’t want to be the sort of person that wants people to die.

The genie, once out of the bottle, ain’t going back in. It does reflect badly on you and rightly so. This comment is merely trying to gloss over the original, honest, emotion. Despite Margoyles being an unpleasant individual, I don’t wish her dead. That makes me a better person – in fact, most of us are better people than she is.

After admitting to her change of heart, Miriam continued with another savage remark about the prime minister.

She said: ‘So then I wanted him to get better, which he did do, he did get better. But he didn’t get better as a human being. And I really would prefer that. So, we’re in the s**t, basically, here.’

I’m not sure that a judgement on one’s humanity by Miriam Margoyles is worth a piece of shit, frankly.

  1. The Harry Potter star? Err, should that not be jobbing actress (female so not actor!) with tiny part in hugely successful franchise? Perhaps the only thing I’m actually enjoying in this fiasco is the thought of all those ‘me me me look at me’ attention whores not getting constant attention.

    • Good Point. I thought that Daniel Radcliffe was the Harry Potter star, but as I’ve not watched any of them, I may be wrong on that.

  2. Does left wing politics turn nice, gentle human beings into nasty bastards or does left wing politics attract nasty bastards? It’s a puzzle, isn’t it?

    • I think it’s the constant sense of seeing their half baked ideas fail all the time that degrades a person so.

People like Margolyes are simply not clever (Or self-reflective) enough to step back, look at their chosen philosophy and say “Hang on a minute- that’s not going to work” So they get angry with people from the other side of the political aisle because of their own lack of understanding.

  3. She has cornered the acting market for cheery, smiley, twinkly-eyed,chubby, short arses. Not much competition there since Bella Emberg sadly departed.

  4. Miriam M’Gargoyle is another example of how Evil the Left are and they’re proud to publicly proclaim their Evilness. Stalin & Mao would be proud of her

Why, oh why do so many still believe Left are kind & caring and vote for them?

Styx boatmen will be queuing up for honour of taking Miriam M’Gargoyle to Hades

    Talking of caring
    – Hmm, why should we care? You’ve never cared about us. With VE Day in news, reminds us RoI supported Germany same as SNP did

  5. Lefties are nasty spiteful people. But give them lots and lots of publicity and media time. They can’t help themselves when the thin veneer of respectability is unmasked.

  6. She has been given Aussie citizenship, so why hasn’t the bitter old hag moved over there permanently? Crap actress and as funny as an ingrown toenail!!
