Boris Johnson warned tonight that draconian new coronavirus restrictions could be here for months – as chief medical officer Chris Whitty pointed the finger at ‘Generation Z’ for sparking a surge in cases.
Addressing the nation at the first No10 press conference since July, the PM said the spike in infections seen over the past week left him no choice but to tighten lockdown across England for the first time since March. ‘We must act,’ he said.
He signalled that the ‘rule of six’ limit on how many people can socialise together will be in place for some time to come, after partying among the younger generation fuelled a sharp rise. Apart from a vaccine, he said the only other way out before Christmas was a ‘moonshot’ of introducing mass daily testing for everyone, but admitted that would require ‘everything to come together’.

Mr Johnson said he was ‘sorry’ that larger households would not be able to meet up, as they would be above the six-person threshold. ‘But as your PM I must do what it takes to stop the spread of the virus.’

PS Visited Doctors on Monday for blood samples.. It was like a radiation leak disaster zone. Reception sealed off with plastic sheets, yellow tape & cones, toilets shut, few lights on, door locked & phone when arrive.
Nurse opens door: “Will you wear a mask?”

I chatted freely and mocked her/NHS etc She thought >1% of population dead and “Nobody knows size of virus”
Corrected her on both: 0.05% with, 0.002% from; 0.125 microns and N95 mask holes are 0.3 micron

There really is no hope for the health service. I had cause to visit the doctor’s to pick up a repeat prescription slip and they are serving you through a side window of the dispensary with a table on the ground as a physical barrier to you approaching the window too closely.
But it gets better. The staff are all masked and gowned up but the employee to talk to me first pulls her mask down to under her nose thereby touching the mask and then a few moments later touches the mask again to pull it down completely while she riffles through the prescription slip box to find mine. Having found mine she realises that it hasn’t been signed and then “taps” it on her mouth and nose as she ponders why it hasn’t been signed.
Now this doesn’t really bother me and is the reason that I didn’t challenge her on it, but for fucks sake they’re health care “professionals” and if they can’t do basic mask hygiene there is not hope for Joe Public.

Cases that do not mean illness, if you spend 15 minutes in a room with someone with measles you will likely test positive for measles yourself but that does not mean that you Have measles or that you are going to have it.

Looking at Twitter (I know, not representative…) the comments are…well, ‘vitriolic’ is too soft a word. I think this might be the last straw.
The problem seems to be that there is just such a huge majority of sheeple who still think that they are walking a tightrope of death every time that they go. They also seem to think that the stream of edicts from the government are going to have some effect and therefore must be obeyed to the letter. If everyone woke up and ignored this stuff then the petty dictators would lose their power. Instead they treat anyone who is defiant like a pariah.
I doubt if “Bonkers” Boris can appreciate how much I despise him and his imbecilic government (and I speak as someone who could not, by any stretch of the imagination, be considered left wing in their views). I hear that he now wants an army of Covid Stazi to go out and enforce these new regulations. If I see one I shall pointedly turn my back on them. And it’s going to get worse, not better too..

I voted Tory in the last election but I won’t be voting for them next time. They’ve failed on just about everything that motivated me to vote for them.
