The Ultimate Expression of Dissent

Ultimately in a democracy we have the power to remove our politicians. It’s a flawed system and our system tends to favour the same types of people whatever rosette they seem to wear. However, they are talking about taking that away now.

Elections due to take place on 6 May will “almost certainly” be postponed due to the coronavirus, Conservative MP Steve Brine has said.

Labour’s Meg Hillier said she could not see “any option but for some delay”.

Voters are set to go to the polls in May for council and mayoral elections in England – and parliamentary elections in Scotland and Wales.

There is no justification for this. None whatsoever. The propaganda machine has been in overdrive for so long now, people will accept this.

I would like to say that I’m appalled, but I’m not even mildly surprised. Nothing these charlatans do surprises me any more. They did this last year with the mayoral elections which is why that vile tosspot Khan is still in city hall. So, looks like he will get another free year in which to piss on Londoners.

  1. At what point do these elected representatives cease to have legitimacy? They aren’t elected representatives if the election has been cancelled are they?

  2. The electorate will just shrug and say “Never mind, Corrie’s on tonight”. I despair of the majority in this country. There again, they’re not the ones with skyrocketing blood pressure.

    • If they can eat, get cheap-ish booze from supermarkets. and watch the box, netflix, etc., they just won’t care. The millennia-old philosophy of “Bread & Circuses” has never been so well used.
