SAGE are scientifically illiterate.
People should consider wearing masks in certain situations outdoors, a sub group of SAGE has warned.
The SAGE EMG group made the suggestion in its meeting on masks and their usefulness in controlling the virus in January.
They stressed that while masks play only a small role, their widespread usage would help contain the spread of the virus.

It also noted that a public awareness campaign would also be useful, telling people, the importance of and how to correctly wear.
I don’t know how many studies have been conducted on the efficacy of masks for containing the spread of an airborne pathogen, but all of them reached the same conclusion. There is no evidence that they work. Yet here we are being told that we should wear them in the open air. This is not science, it is religion.

It would appear that, if you can present the credentials of a scientist, there is a good living to be made from telling the government what they say that they need to be told. You are a scientist, so the government can announce to the public that a scientist said it. Who cares that you are nothing but a paid shill? The general public have never heard of Nullius In Verba, hell the Royal Society have it as their official motto and don’t appear to have heard of it.

That linked report is troubling and the madness is such that you could find yourself criminalised by plod as a result of being a responsible citizen by voluntarily downloading “Test and Trace”.
This is yet another damned good reason for having sod all to do with Test and Trace.
The app is anonymous, so they won’t have access. However, if you sign in manually, then they do. Which is why I don’t, of course.
