A Simple Solution

Starbucks is thinking about quitting Farcebook. Well, that’s reasonable enough, I suppose.

Starbucks is reportedly considering closing its Facebook page as a result of the ‘hateful comments’ in response to some of their posts.

Uh, huh…

Starbucks mainly posts information about their beverages on the page, which is followed by 35 million people

This, of course, being the point of having such a page. It makes sense. But posting about your product is pretty uncontroversial. Do people send hate speech about lattes?

but they also respond to social issues, such as the conviction of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd, and the wave of anti-Asian attacks.

Ah, I see your problem right there. Most people really aren’t interested in your woke preaching, preferring you to sell them coffee. So do that and keep out of politics and the latest cause du jour. Job done.

The “hate speech” seems to be mostly what I’ve said above – stop preaching and stick to coffee. Seems they can’t handle the heat. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

  1. Find one of Jackie Mason’s old ‘Starbucks’ routines on youtube, he had their measure.

Never been in Starbucks, never been in a Costa either, when i can get a damned good large coffee and a bacon roll dripping in HP sauce at Greggs for less than the cost of one of their coffees on its jack, well ask yourself why would you.

  2. I wonder what it is about social media that makes it thought to be OK to push political opinions while promoting your company’s products? Free catalogues or leaflets don’t have political opinions as a side order. I wouldn’t expect to see it on an official website. Why, if I want to check out promotions at the coffee shop would I want to know their opinion on George Floyd? Am I the only person who thinks that it’s completely bizarre?

    • Something to do with recruiting young things with media degrees straight from indoctrination centres, sorry, uni, to run the social media accounts?

The list of gone woke companies that will never see a penny of my hard earned grows by the day.

      • The good graduates get to pour the coffee and make the little picture on top.
The not so good get to play on the keyboards.
        Then there is The Management.

  3. I avoid Twatter and Farcebook but i am partial to Starbucks fruit toast with a flat white extra hot !

    • Buy a fruit loaf, make toast
      – Rankin, Soreen, Warburtons…

Buy whatever coffee and add hot water

      Job done, cheaper and better

  4. I have a coffee pod machine which makes really nice coffee with no mess.

I just read on a US blog that Coca Cola are doing a U turn after doing a load of anti white shit in their advertising. Their products are apparently piling up in the shops as the white majority refuse to buy them.

  5. Companies should stick to producing and selling their products and services. They should avoid wading into politics.
