Never Saw That Coming

Fake vaccine passports.

Official NHS passes used to prove double-jabbed status are being sold on an encrypted messaging app to people who refuse to be vaccinated, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The certificates – which are uploaded on to the NHS‘s mobile phone app – should only be available to those who have been fully inoculated.

They can be used for foreign travel and to gain access to nightclubs, stadiums and other venues for big events. They will also be used to ensure that care home staff have been fully vaccinated when it becomes mandatory next month.

But our investigation exposes the fraudsters who are selling genuine passes for up to £750 each on the messaging app Telegram to people who won’t have the jab.

Oh dear. Well, that wasn’t predictable, was it? It doesn’t matter how many of these are in the wild, the damage has been done – anyone flashing their vaccine passport could be a fake.

Laugh? I nearly pissed myself. On a more serious note, however, this is a good thing. Anything that undermines authoritarianism is a good thing. If this ultimately undermines the credibility of this horrific scheme, then I’m all in favour. Not that I plan on buying one as I don’t need it. I’m a bit like Leggy. Maybe not quite such a hermit, but I eschew much of what others engage in.

And on the subject being discussed yesterday regarding care workers:

But to the growing annoyance of Ministers, an estimated 42,000 – or eight per cent of the care home workforce – are expected to miss the deadline.

Oh, they are annoyed. Well that’s just too bad. Who do these people think they are?

  1. Genuine passes, not forgeries? So the government contractor that is producing the things must have leaky security. Presumably these passes have your name on them. Otherwise, having been vaccinated, I could apply for one legally and sell it. Not that I think that £750 is worth indulging in criminal activity for.

    • “So the government contractor that is producing the things must have leaky security”

Whats the likelihood that the most leaky part of the organisation will be the most ‘diverse’ as well?

For once the propensity of non-Caucasians to disregard the rules and do what they like may actually save us. There’s no way that the authorities will be able to keep these passes secure, given the massive number of them and how widespread the issuing is, there’s always going to be someone somewhere prepared to make some £££ on the side and sell off fake or illicit documentation. Eventually they will become about as secure as those ID cards they give out to 18 year olds to get into pubs, ie anyone who wants a fake one can get one.

      • The novelty with this fakery is that it’s not just a fake document, it’s the whole electronic shebang, it posts a fake electronic record onto the NHS system.
It was inevitable that this system would be cracked, no such system is ever 100% secure and, in practice, it’s technically simpler than the physical business of printing dodgy driving licenses or passports, but it’s impressive how quickly they’ve managed to crack it.
Sign them up for national cyber security jobs, poachers make good gamekeepers.

  2. “…I don’t need it. I’m a bit like Leggy. Maybe not quite such a hermit, but I eschew much of what others engage in.”

Once the government realises that the virus is still spreading* despite the restrictions the restrictions will also spread. To pubs, to supermarkets, to public transport.

It’s a ratchet, that’s how we got to where we are from “three weeks to flatten the curve”. It might not affect you now but it’ll bite you in the future, maybe sooner than you think.

    * Or some other bullshit excuse.

      • The technology to make practical use of it doesn’t exist yet. Idiot politicians think that they can use their policies to change reality. The part that caused me to be alarmed was that, refusal to go along with their absurd fantasies will result in your house being violated and your gas supply being cut off. In some cases your only means of heating your house, heating your water and cooking your food. We used to look down on countries that did this kind of thing to their citizens, rightly condemning their barbaric ways. Yet here we are.

  3. I’ve read and inwardly digested lots of articles and polemics by specialists and researchers from many places geographically on the net and synthesised them with what I have gleaned and experienced over my lifetime, and after 18 months I have concluded – that I’m an anti vaxer.

  4. Unvaxxed? You must be mistaken. I am a member of the control group, Necessary for the SCIENCE, motherfucker

  5. “Who do these people think they are?”

“Our leaders”. Haven’t you been listening? I’ve been telling people for years that that kind of talk was sinister. And here we are.

But yeah, the fake passes thing is hilarious. It’s been the case since time immemorial that the greatest bastion against tyranny is the incompetence of would-be tyrants.
