Sieg Heil

It’s been mentioned in the comments, but it seems that Austria really hasn’t learned from the events of seventy years ago. Not that they are the only ones. Stll, Mengele will be smiling from down below.

Days after Austria imposed a lockdown on the unvaccinated, it has announced a full national Covid-19 lockdown starting on Monday.

Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said it would last a maximum of 20 days and there would be a legal requirement to get vaccinated from 1 February 2022.

The one thing that we as individuals have is dominion over our bodies. Now Austria is the first country to take that away. There is something very teutonic about this mindset. Remember Arnie telling us to stuff our freedoms? The Austrian/German attitude towards liberty isn’t the same as ours, but we are slowly moving in their direction. I hope we don’t go quite that far, because if we do, I might be joining Insulate Britain protestors inside.

It sounds dramatic, but when I look at what is happening in the world, I am fearful of the evil that walks abroad. I’ve travelled to Austria and enjoyed the journey, but I will never repeat that visit. It’s looking increasingly likely that I won’t be leaving these shores again if this infection (and I’m not talking about covid) spreads across the continent.

What just happened?

Edited to add: Looks like things might not go as smoothly as the Austrian dictatorship had planned.

The police and the army refuse to control the health passes in the name of “freedom and human dignity”. They will join a large demonstration against compulsory confinement on November 20, 2021 in Vienna.

Given that the police and army are unwilling to enforce these mandates, how will it work?

  1. The worst is that they have managed to make a large part of the vaccinated believe that it is all the fault of the unvaccinated…so reminiscent of 85 years ago.

It seems that we are veering away from this here because the lack of restrictions for the last 6 months seems to have facilitated herd immunity (whodathunkit?!?!) but I’m sure it would not take much for the criminals in charge to try and impose restrictions here again.

  2. What won’t come as a surprise to those of us still (or already?) awake, is how quickly the majority compliant populace, convinced that by feeding the crocodile they’ll not be eaten at all, will gladly turn on the current undesirables, us.

Our own gestapo/ss won’t need to berate/beat us, the brainwashed vaccinated will be falling over themselves to show how virtuous they are doing the good work for them.

If our side should somehow end up coming out of this still alive with jobs and homes and living in a comparatively free country, then watch how quickly the other side swaps their narrative without missing a beat, we must never forget who they are because they can never again be trusted.

  3. I am fully vaccinated as I am in one of the vulnerable categories. This was a personal decision and I fully respect those who made a personal decision not to get the jab. Even if the Covid vaccination worked like a regular vaccine and provided immunity and protected those who can’t be vaccinated, compulsion would still not be justified. The MMR vaccine was never made compulsory, the health fascists would have had a much better case for compulsion in that case but would still have been wrong. In the case of the Covid vaccine, it offers limited protection only to the individual who is injected. There is no justification whatsoever for forcing or coercing people to have it. We are caught between the evil control freaks and the morons who can’t be arsed to educate themselves about important current issues.

  4. Well, extremely encouraging that the police and army aren’t playing ball. It’s only with their co-operation that it can be enforced. I suppose the vaxxed could turn vigilante but doubt that many would have the spine to do that.

    • Good for the Austrians, but unfortunately for us we’ve already seen how eager our police were to jump on members of the public over petty things that weren’t even illegal, so they would cream themselves with the same power.

  5. If there is a hill to die on, state mandated medical intervention is it. Beyond that there is no hope.
