Quite Possibly

Looks like I’m one of 60%.

Up to 60 per cent of people in England have still never had Covid, suggest estimates made by top scientists who have advised ministers throughout the pandemic.

So those predictions weren’t just wrong, they were wildly inaccurate. There is also a possibility that they missed – natural immunity. Anecdotal, I know, but several people I know have looked after family members and been in close contact, but not caught it themselves. I’m hearing this more and more, so natural immunity is a possibility.

  1. A pandemic caused by a disease so dangerous that you need a test to see if you have it and so transmissible that it doesn’t infect a majority of the population.

I don’t even mind if people start falsely claiming they were against all this lockdown/masking/whatever nonsense all along, really, honestly, they always thought it was a bad idea, etc.
Can we just get back to fucking normal?
I’m just done with it. Not going to any establishment that puts a mask sign up. Not that I wear one. Just not going anyway. If they want my custom, they need to just fucking stop.

    • Maybe you do need to let them know why you are refusing to shop. I think that a lot of the mask signs will be up for a long while just because nobody got around to taking them down.

  2. Daughter and her chap watched the new Matrix film at the weekend, soon as the film ended the audience (apart from them cos still able to think for themselves) all stood up and donned their masks, you couldn’t make this crap up.
Long way to go before the compliant find a set of bollocks between them.

Dunno whether i/we have had the flu or not over the last 2 years, not had a test and not going to, had the usual colds and sniffles, got a cold now as it happens, just like most of the rest of my life come to think of it various colds and once every few years a really bloody bad one.

About 8/9 years one Christmas had an evil flu, both of us, lungs filled up overnight had to sleep propped up, both of us fully expected one or the other of us not to make it, but here we both are, best bet for survival i’ve found is to avoid hospitals and doctors at all costs.

  3. The last time that I had a flu type bug was early in 2019. My wife and I both got it. Bed for a couple of days feeling really crap followed by a week of feeling a bit crap. I hardly ever get colds at all, even when they were going around at work I wouldn’t pick them up.

As for the 60%, how many of the other 40% have actually had Covid? The tests aren’t particularly reliable and, in the current climate, it is likely that any flu type disease would be attributed to it. As for natural immunity, this 60% has been exposed to this bug for two and a half years now and not picked it up, that would suggest that they have some resistance to it.

  4. 80% of the passengers on board The Diamond Princess did not get covid despite being in each others laps (not literally, unless there were a few swingers on there perhaps)for weeks.
Husband and wife quarantined in their cabin. She got it,he didn’t.
Vastly overblown infection rates, vastly overblown fatality rates.
The biggest problem the government now has it how to get out of the hole they dug for themselves.

Also, Robert Kennedy Jr. explains why they are pushing the jab onto kids – under emergency use authorisation the drug companies are not liable for adverse reactions. If the drugs become approved they are. Unless the same drug is approved for children, then they remain liability free……even if the adverse effects are in adults.

    • Funny how you had this cruise ship and the infections on an american and french aircraft carriers which were perfect test tubes that showed the fear was wildly overblown, yet those examples are never mentioned.

    • Another population that is studiously ignored is supermarket staff, who were breathed over by all and sundry all day every day during the panic buying of early 2020 and yet didn’t die in their droves as far as I know – and this months before talismans masks were mandated.

  5. Think of a number. Any number……then say a scientist produced it. It must be true.

I am currently sat in the dentist waiting room on my own “wearing a mask” (yeah right) because that’s what the rules are and my teeth hurt. If I want to see the dentist I have to conform…..

    Brave new world

  7. I had a scratchy cough last winter and was rather “Bunged Up” a week ago. However, the cough has been intermittent for about 5 years, and despite numerous tests my local NHS hospital couldn’t pin it down to anything particular. And I’ve had sinus problems for decades, so who knows whether both cases were coincidence, or that I’ve now had the Delta & Moronic strains? I’m certainly not getting tested to find out…

  8. I know people who’ve had it, but I’ve managed to avoid it so far myself and that’s just with getting on with life as normally as possible
I have had one cold this year though. Caught it at work where everyone has to wear masks

  9. Went to St Pancras train station yesterday.

Interestingly, the masks signs do not say that masks are mandatory in the station but (I forget the exact wording) that it would be nice if people wore one. You would not realise it unless you read the sign though. The vast majority does wear face nappies anyway unfortunately but I thought that was interesting.

  10. I’ll add an anecdote to your list. I’ve looked after 2 unvaccinated and 1 partially vaccinated who all caught it from each other in my house. Managed not to catch it. So either I already had it, or … well wtf terrifying transmissible disease that I didn’t catch from a week+ of every day household exposure?
