Charlatan

Pantsdown Lockdown. This vile little man is still whining about lockdowns. There is enough evidence now – even though it was fairly obvious before – that lockdowns don’t work, yet still, still, this piece of shit is going on about it.

Professor ‘Lockdown‘ Neil Ferguson has slammed a review that found lockdowns barely affected the Covid mortality rate.

The Imperial College London epidemiologist, whose modelling led the UK Government to impose the first lockdown, said the paper ‘does not significantly advance’ understandings of how effective the draconian measure is.

The review — by three economists from Johns Hopkins University in the US, Lund University in Sweden and the Danish think-tank the Center for Political Studies —ound lockdowns only reduced Covid mortality by 0.2 per cent in 2020.

But they found that the stay-at-home order (2.9 per cent), school closures (4.4 per cent) and business closures (10.6 per cent) were individually more effective.

Professor Ferguson said the report does not increase understanding of how different Covid curbs limit the spread of the virus.

Yes it does, now fuck off back under the rock you crawled out from. And when you’ve fucked off, fuck off some more and keep fucking off until you disappear up your own orifice, never to be seen or heard from again.

Critics of the new lockdown report — which was published on Wednesday and has not been peer-reviewed — accused the working paper of being biased.

Pot, meet kettle. Now do the same as that repugnant little shit Ferguson. You people have done enough damage over the past two years. What we need now is a long period of silence from each and every one of you while we repair our lives and livelihoods.

  1. I assume this study, like most others, set out to prove lockdowns etc work

The 0.2% reduction in Covid mortality is statistically insignificant and more than cancelled by increase in other mortality

The “school closures (4.4 per cent)” is not plausible. Sweden kept schools open and found teachers at lower risk than average. Out of 2 million children, zero deaths

As for Ferguson, Gove, SAGE etc they should be jailed for crimes against humanity

  2. Here in New Zealand,we will be opening the borders for tourists later this year. Hooray. But they will be required to be double vaccinated and then to self isolate for ten days on arrival. Who the hell is going to spend thousands of pounds to fly here and spend half the holiday sitting in isolation?
    The Covid madness is universal.

  3. It is astonishing that someone so comically inept is treated not with derision and contempt, but rather with respect and belief. Remember his modelling for vCJD (or Mad Cow Disease, if you prefer)? He confidently predicted 140,000 deaths (revised down from an earlier even higher number). The actual number was 107. Not 107,000 – just 107. Out by three orders of magnitude. I don’t believe he’s ever got within one order of magnitude of reality with any of his models. He will be a future case study in incompetence and arrogance. He is not alone, however, as he has analogues in many countries. we have our own here in NZ.

    • This is why I get so angry. If I had been that bad at my job, I’d have been sacked and rightly so. Given this man’s track record and the damage caused as a consequence of his disastrous predictions, I have never taken anything he comes out with seriously, yet the media seems to love him. Referring back to my discussion with Ifan Morgan a couple of posts back – this is why I despise the cult of the expert. Ferguson is an expert, he has qualifications, yet even an unqualified layman can smell the incompetence from a mile off. As for Whitty and Van Tam, again, qualified people peddling rampant bullshit. They are typical of a kind of medic who becomes so focussed on one risk, that they exclude all others. Again, you don’t need a medical degree to see this, merely observational skills and an basic understanding of risk analysis and management.

      • Personally I don’t think its incompetence. They know exactly what they are doing and are paid extremely well to do it. Pete mentions Foot and Mouth.

Have a watch of the following documentary if you have the time. You will see the same playbook throughout every incident since – SARS, MERS, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, Covid. And Ferguson and his fake modelling were involved every time.

      • There is a review, online, of Ferguson’s code that, as a programmer myself since 1979 I find shocking.
He appears to be nothing more than a ‘dabbler’. Someone who cannot code properly, did not document what he was doing and (presumably aware of the failings of his work) was very reluctant to share how it operated.
That’s before we get into the utterly spurious results he has always produced.
To my mind, he’s a self-publicist of very little ability. Government tends to be run by non scientists who don’t know how to ask the right questions of the scientific people. Who in turn are loving their time in the spotlight and the power, reputation and funding that comes with it.
Here’s a link to Toby Young’s page about the code review. Lest you cry ‘Young is biased’, he was not the reviewer, only the person publishing it.

        • Classic GIGO of course. I do recall the resistance to having the code looked at by people who knew what they were doing and the computing world’s dismay at the utter nonsense that it proved to be. What he is doing is not, by any stretch of the imagination, science, it is fortune telling at the local village fete.

  4. People like Ferguson must be castoffs from town council offices. Check your local version for proof why they are renowned for producing staff who rise to the level of their own incompetence.

  5. Fraser Nelson writes in today’s Telegraph (4th Feb)that the lockdown establishment will never admit that the policy was wrong and I’m sure he is right; we will have to wait years before what I consider to be the biggest policy blunder of my lifetime is generally recognised as the miserable failure it was. And those who recognised early on that the policy was wrong will not be lightly forgiven. It has been well said that it is much harder to forgive people for being right than for being wrong.

  6. Couple of good articles ripping Ferguson and SAGE

    .
BTW: I had Omicron, infected in hospital by triple vaxxed masked nurse during 20 min procedure.

It was terrible, no week in bed watching TV. I had to change nothing other than going to bed one hour early one night and frequent nose blowing.

Unvaxxed and had previous strain* which only meant two day soreish throat and frequent nose blowing. Again, infected in hospital

    * Strain – I and many consider Omicron to be a new strain, not a variant
