There Isn’t Enough Popcorn

Even if the popcorn suppliers worked flat out twenty four hours a day, still we would be facing a shortage.

In an emergency meeting on Friday, Twitter employees lashed out over Elon Musk‘s deal to acquire the company for $44 billion, accusing the world’s richest man of bigotry and fretting over potential job cuts once the deal closes.

Staffers at the ‘impromptu’ all-hands meeting fired angry questions at executives including CEO Parag Agrawal, who was described as looking tired and at times annoyed, according to Insider.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind. These lunatics have been getting their own way for so long now, the idea that other people with different opinions might be allowed to challenge their insane ideology is too much for them. Of course, they could always do what they told those who were banned what to do – go set up their own version. No one is stopping them.

One employee at the meeting described Musk as anti-gay and anti-transgender, expressing fear that his ownership would hurt efforts to recruit new employees.

Dream on, sunshine. There will be plenty of people willing to take the Musk shilling.

‘What should we tell the LGTBQ community at recruiting conferences we’re lined up to attend when they ask us why they should come work at Twitter when we just sold ourselves to an open homophobe and transphobe?’ the staffer asked Dalana Brand, Twitter’s chief people and diversity officer.

Well, there’s a job that can go right there. The answer to the idiotic question is ‘nothing.’ There is no such thing as an alphabet soup community. A shared characteristic does not a community make and it does not automatically follow that having that characteristic makes one a member of the far left, so they would, likely as not, not really care so long as the free speech principles are upheld and the job pays well with decent working conditions. There are such things as gay conservatives and I’m sure they would relish working where the toxic far left environment has been disinfected.

Oh, yeah and calling people phobes is so 2021. No one cares about it, just as no one cares if you call people racists. The stupid, made up insults just don’t have any effect any more – apart from show you up for being a cultist.

The criticism of Musk may have been referring to his prior mockery of the inclusion of pronouns in Twitter bios.

I like this Musk chappie more and more. Pronouns in Twitter bios (see also email signatures) need mocking good and hard until people stop doing it.

‘I’m tired of hearing about shareholder value and fiduciary duty. What are your honest thoughts about the very high likelihood that many employees will not have jobs after the deal closes?’ the employee asked.

Learn to code?

All in all, this is good news. Good because the swamp will be drained and the far left will no longer be able to simply ban dissenting voices that dare to challenge their insane antics and good because the entertainment value of the pompous, self-entitled pricks going into full froth is pure gold.

Now, where’s that popcorn?

Yup. One here, but onlike the rest of the LGBT+ “community” I have no desire to wave my sexuality in other peoples faces. It’s a private matter between myself and whomever I chose to share my life with.

I code as well (albeit not as well as I did as a younger man). If these idiots with their fragile personalities cannot take the pressure of working a 9-5 desk job at one of the cushiest companies around then they should find a job elsewhere and resign. There are plenty of others who are suitably technically qualified that would be happy to replace them, myself included if the pay is good enough.

      • To be honest, I think there are better things to be doing in life than coding at Twatter. I don’t share the leftoids viewpoint that Twatter is in any way important to “the public/political sphere”. Far too much politics nowadays anyway, most of which is pointless squabbling and tribalism.

I’ll stick to building my robots for farming small vegetables in high CO2 greenhouses. That seems like a much more worthwhile expenditure of my time.

  2. “A shared characteristic does not a community make…” but it makes it easy for somebody making a career out of activism to assume the mantle of protector and defender. Whether people of that shared characteristic want to be spoken for or not.

    • And therein lies the problem. Most people who are trans – as opposed to the activists – seem to want to be left alone. Blair White is a voice of reason in this one.

      • ‘Twas ever thus. As soon as equality/tolerance/acceptance is achieved, those fighting for it mostly get on with their lives. While a small hardcore of fanatics start looking for ways to push it even further…

  3. There are such things as gay conservatives

Yep, Andrew Dolan, Darren Grimes, Douglas Murray, Milo Yanopilis to name a few in public eye

But as John said, no desire to wave it in other peoples faces

    Popcorn time

      • Is there anyone who has been responsible for a greater amount of human misery than Karl Marx? Murderous dictators come and go but Marx’s poisonous ideas seem to endure no matter how many abject failures they cause.

    • The process of solving world hunger has been going on successfully for decades. We aren’t there yet but the progress has been astonishing, especially against a background of increasing populations. The problem can’t be solved with just money anyway, the application of efficient farming methods is the thing that is needed.

  4. “The stupid, made up insults just don’t have any effect any more – apart from show you up for being a cultist.”

“Cultist”? Is that another made up insult? 😉

  5. ‘What should we tell the LGTBQ community at recruiting conferences…?”

Why not tell them what you currently tell the straight, white male community? “Nothing for you here.”

  6. The money isn’t being destroyed, why not argue the people he is buying Twitter from should solve world hunger? Nonsense

    • Indeed. Many people think that when somebody spends money on something the money just ceases to exist. Actually it just changed hands. It did not disappear into thin air.

  7. “Cultist”? Is that another made up insult?

    Not exactly a new term…

early 17th century (originally denoting homage paid to a divinity): from French culte or Latin cultus ‘worship’, from cult- ‘inhabited, cultivated, worshipped’, from the verb colere.

    • These people display all of the behaviours of those indoctrinated into a cult. One of those being the use of cult specific language and terms. Compare for example with the Scientologists who use terms that only they really understand – exactly the same applies with the extreme leftist activists. Anyone referring to normal people as ‘cis’ or a ‘phobe’ is no different to a scientologist talking about an SP.

  8. Just think how many trees have been saved since they hijacked “gay” when previously they’d have had to type and print “homosexual”.
