Self Inflicted

I had no idea who Darius Campbell Danesh was until his death hit the headlines, so I thought that he must be important.

Scottish Pop Idol singer Darius Campbell Danesh…

Oh, maybe not then. However, despite being some z list artificial sleb, his death hit the headlines, so I couldn’t escape the news. The headlines have been bombarding me with it for the past couple of weeks.

died after inhaling chloroethane which led to respiratory arrest, a US medical examiner has confirmed.

Sigh… Entirely self inflicted, then. My sympathy is somewhat limited. Apparently he was suffering from chronic pain following a road traffic accident. Okay, lots of us suffer chronic pain, but we don’t inhale dangerous recreational substances to deal with it. So, as I say, my sympathy is somewhat limited here. Maybe it will serve as a warning to others? Although I doubt it.

  1. Coincidentally, it is a thickening agent.
So repeated use renders one thicker and thicker.
The small print on the Covid jab phials will advise against the use of chloroethane up to 1 year after jabbing. Aye. Right.

  2. I knew who he was and was a little bit sad when I heard that he died. Good looking bloke with a decent voice, I think that he had moved from pop songs to stage musicals so was making a go of being an entertainer. He wrote a song called colour blind which was reasonable and a minor hit. Having said all that, it isn’t much of a surprise that his demise was the result of drug abuse, it just seems to be a thing with those in the entertainment industry.
