Michael Sheen says the King and Queen Consort’s recent visit to Wales could be seen as ‘insensitive to the point of insulting’.

Okaaaay. Did anyone know that this special day was Owain Glyndwr day? Does anyone out there even care? The monarch has died and during the lying in state, the new king is doing the rounds – Wales being one of the parts of the UK, it is included. The only one being insulting here is a jumped up sleb that hasn’t done anything decent for years. If he ever did.

Oh and Owain Glyndwr, he’s the chap that couldn’t be arsed to turn up to help his allies, wasn’t he? Not sure that’s worth a special day.

  1. There will be people who are outraged.
There will be people who are indifferent.
There will be many many people who will have no view until they see an outrage bandwagon passing on social media.
And a few old celebs trying to regain their glory days.

  2. Who the fuck is he? Some non-event looking for self-aggrandisement and facilitated by the daily wail. We never seem to be short of them, do we?

  3. Do you have to be some kind if Billy No Life to concern yourself about such things? My reaction to this is that I really don’t care. I don’t know who this guy is and I don’t care. I think that if the Welsh feel all insulted over the King visiting or not visiting on a day that celebrates one of their national heroes, who I’ve also never heard of but that maybe just my lack of education, I don’t care. I’ve got stuff going on in my life, things to do, places to be, people to help out, you know, a life.

    • Owain Glyndwr is a national hero, but as national heroes go, he’s a bit Z list. A local lord who got uppity with Henry IV and started a bit of a rebellion that went nowhere. Allied with the Percys and was supposed to be at the battle of Shrewsbury, but didn’t turn up. Not much is known of him after that. He just disappeared.

If that’s a national hero, then you are short of applicants, frankly.

      • Mrs S. knows a lot more about history than I do so she knows who he was. Your summing up made me laugh. I suppose that as heroic failures go we have remembered Guy Fawkes. Should we get uppity if the King books a royal visit on bonfire night?
