Craig David – or perhaps, Craig who?

Craig David has slammed the former comedy show Bo’ Selecta! and called out its “racist” impression of him by comedian Leigh Francis.

Bo what?

Bo’ Selecta! ran on Channel 4 from 2002 to 2009. Fronted by Leigh Francis, it was a hit series based on celebrity caricature with deliberately ridiculous impressions all voiced by Francis. Craig David was one of the many sketches alongside Mel B, David Beckham and chat show host Trisha Goddard.

So this thin-skinned whiny nonentity is whinging about a show that ended thirteen years ago and most people will have forgotten all about it, that also took the piss out of white people, but whaaah racist.

Is this man seeking some sort of relevance?

However David doubts the apology was sincere. He said: “We can all apologise when on the back foot. The moment of expressing his apology seemed very coincidentally timed. Has he reached out to any of the people he did on his show? He hasn’t reached out to me. Has he gone to communities to talk about bullying? Racism? And to be educated? You can only ask him.

Ah, yes, the good old re-education trope. Maybe a gulag would suffice? Craig David, a no one then and a no one now.

  3. There was a lot of hype about him – his looks and his talent.
    So I listened.
    He was ordinary. A semi finalist on Britain’s Got Talent. He coulda been a contendah.
    Bo Selecta probably did him a favour, keeping interest going.

    Did he impersonate a black person whilst being guilty of being funny whilst white? Aaahhhhh, there’s yer problem.

    • I never found Keith Lemon funny. But taste is a personal thing. His stuff certainly wasn’t racist though. Craig David is a whiny twat, frankly.

  6. It was the norm to do comedy back then, it’s the norm to call everything racist and act the victim now. Looks like someone is seeing an opportunity to get his name back in the papers, even if it is about something that ended years ago.

    I always thought that other fallah was an annoying moron though, so they can have at each other, as far as I care

  7. What Craig David does not seem to recognise is that Bo Selecta wasn’t being racist, it was specifically mocking HIM that the ridiculous ‘Nawth Larnden street’ persona he embodied.

    It’s not Leigh Francis’ fault that David has barely sold more than a small cluth of records since Artful Dodger
