Actions…

Meet consequences.

A self-proclaimed tattoo addict, who has every inch of her body and face covered in ink, says she can’t learn to drive as instructors are too scared to get in a car with her.

I doubt scared, more likely find her repugnant.

Melissa said: “I know they are put off by the way I look, but that is victimisation and should not matter. This is something I have lived with most of my life, but it should not be happening. I now have three layers on my face with tattoos over tattoos. I know that I am addicted to them, but just can’t stop. I still get them every week or I will get my partner Will to give me a tattoo with our own inking gun.”

They are self employed. They are not obliged to provide you with a service. You created the discrimination, no one else. No sympathy.

  1. And who pays for her “lifestyle”, weekly tattoo, rent, food etc?

Answers on the back of a postcard to the usual address …

  2. Melissa said she has already been banned from many aspects of life, including work, tattoo parlours, schools and even pubs, because of her hundreds of tats.

    I call bullshit.
How has she been barred from tattoo parlours because of tattoos? She’d be their best customer…
I suspect she’s probably just an awful person.

She’s moaning she can’t learn to drive. Does she not realise it doesn’t require a qualified instructor (unless they changed the law but I don’t think they have) just someone over 25 who has a licence (and is willing to spend several hours trapped in a car with her). It helps to have someone who knows what they’re doing, but not a legal requirement.

    Oh well.
Who’s that knocking at the door? Could it possibly be the consequences of her actions?

  3. It helps to have someone who knows what they’re doing, but not a legal requirement.

They just can’t do it for reward. The law hasn’t changed in that respect. The ones who are qualified to charge clearly don’t want to be trapped in a car with her.

    • Maybe she’s done a prison break, got all the answers hidden in the tattoos…

Instructor: You are approaching a junction. What do you do?

Melissa: Ah! That’s on my left calf, hold on a sec…

  4. Tattoo parlours do often refuse service to people for various reasons, I’ve read a few stories at NotAlways Right.com about them. So not having a single bit of skin left to work on could be a valid reason. It seems odd in this day and age that there isn’t a driving instructor that will take her on because her excessive tattoos make her look scary but hey, consequences. It does seem to me like a mental illness of some kind but then half the world seems to have one of those these days.

    • They may have turned her away due to a potential health issue. As I say in my comment below, having every bit of your skin covered in ink leaves it unable to breath, and will almost certainly lead to kidney/liver damage. No responsible tattoo artist or studio owner wants that.

    • I noticed that this story has been covered at the Bored Panda website too. The comments there are pretty scathing.

  5. There must be some part of her body that ISN’T inked, she’s risking kidney damage if every inch of her is tattooed because her skin won’t be able to breath. I have several tattoos, but I would never go so far as to have my head and face, and most of my body covered.

  6. Below the wrist and above the neck is just asking for trouble. My local parlour even has a sign which says they won’t do that for first timers.
