So the saga continues. I received the following from the supplier:
My sistem shows that we have not sent you the new jacket yet.
I have here the order of the exchange with no custom fees, it would be sent by UPS DDP.
And also we do not have the defective jacket back with us.
So, would you like to cancel the exchange order and proceed to the refund, or you would like to wait for the new product?
There will be no custom fees.
Please let us know.
We apologize a lot for the inconveniences we caused you.
Okay, so it appears that UPS have at some point, repackaged the original jacket in one of their boxes and sent it back to me with a further demand for import duties. That takes incompetence to a whole new level. The return box had the correct label on it, so there was no excuse.
So, given the pain they have caused me, I am opting for a refund. I have also told the supplier exactly why I am doing that.
I think, however, given the pain that UPS has put me through, that it is time to call a halt to this and go for the refund. I’m sorry this hasn’t worked out, but I’ve had enough. Really, you need to look at using another carrier. UPS are without doubt the most awful organisation I’ve had to deal with for as long as I can recall.
It’s up to them whether they continue to use UPS, but from now on, when shopping online, if I see UPS as the carrier, I will go elsewhere. Right now, Evri is looking pretty good in comparison.
UPS are pretty good here and the local delivery guy is lovely…
The only issue I have with them is that the hub is at the Eastern end of the island and I’m on the west. Clearly, they like to consolidate shipments so instead of my package arriving on the due date the tracking changes to “Delivery delayed due to address change by customer” or somesuch…
It normally gets here within a few days though.
It’s when you have to contact the call centre that it gets… interesting…
What appears to have happened here is truly bizarre.
Having listened to this tale of woe I feel bad that I thought that I was hard done by when TNT delivered my piano a day late. The funny part was that the headphones were delivered on time. My wife was amused by my little crestfallen face after I rushed to answer the knock on the door and then came back holding the tiny little box.
