No, They Haven’t

What they have done is stop the leftist establishment from controlling the narrative.

Two election cycles later, a transformation has taken place. With Facebook rebranded as Meta, Zuckerberg has become part of a major Silicon Valley realignment behind the second Trump presidency. This week, Zuckerberg announced the abrupt dismantling of the third-party factchecking network heralded in 2016, blaming the “bias” of the factcheckers themselves for “eroding trust”, and “governments and legacy media pushing to censor more and more”.

Those fact-checkers were a joke. They would outright deny reality if it suited their agenda, as anyone who can recall the events of five years ago will attest. Now, people can speak freely, and others can challenge any untruths – and it is invariably the likes of the Guardian and the BBC that are getting fact-checked by people who really are prepared to speak the truth. Oh, for the days of Jack Dorsey, eh?

This whole article is a whine from someone who was able to shut down inconvenient voices and is no longer able to spew garbage without others challenging her. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

  1. Have you noticed the missing ‘P’ word?

The lefties are always banging on about ‘fake news’ and ‘disinformation’ but they never mention their own preferences ‘Propaganda’.

In an earlier time the Republicans and Democrats (or the Conservatives and Labour) could say whatever they chose, relying on their ‘Opposition’ to provide an appearance of fake debate, and the main stream media to play along.

That was an earlier time. The world is changing, populism is surging and social media provide alternate views. The cosy politician/media consensus club is running out of trust.

    • I see it’s now OK to say trans people are weird (or mentally ill) on Facebook – wonder how long it will take for the NHS, education, civil and social services, legal profession, armed and police farces, Labour party, luvvies and DEI practitioners to get the memo

    • Just look at the developing story about ex-MP Ivor Caplin, it’s all over Twitter and the red tops, but unaccountably no showing on BBCNews, the Guardian or the Independent.

That’s why they wanted to hamstring social media.

    • Disgusting but not really unexpected. The proles have found a way of cutting off the flow of cash to The Ministry Of Truth so we need to put a stop to that.
