I just cannot see what “new vision” there can be. The whole object of the EU is surely to regulate and unify everything under a socialist banner. I can appreciate the Pope may think it all a bit godless, but given how he bathes the feet of immigrants who do not and will not ever share his beliefs I wonder which gods should the EU adopt in their revised vision?

Herr Junker was on the radio today wibbling on about the two world wars. Since nobody got to vote him in as president of the EU, that sort of makes him a bit of a dictator doesn’t it? Like the ones who tend to cause world wars. More seriously, before the referendum there were remainers admitting that the EU was in need of reform. What they didn’t seem to understand was that the people running the show don’t want it reformed, they like it just the way it is, undemocratic and with them in charge. If the whole thing is going to be reformed, the impetus needs to come from elsewhere, possibly by more member states following us and queuing up to leave.
Risks dying? The EU has been an unconsciable time a-dying.
