A Jewish organisation has demanded an apology from Labour MP Harriet Harmanafter she repeated on live television an antisemitic joke as an example of offensive humour she objected to.
Harman was speaking on BBC One’s This Week in a debate about the limits of acceptable humour. She said: “I’ve long been accused of being a humourless feminist and I’ll give you two examples that I protested about because they were offensive and hurtful.”
Snork! This vile woman has been at the forefront of identity politics; of feeding the offendatron ideology. So she cannot protect herself by simply saying that this is an example of an offensive joke. She said it, therefore she must suffer. And I don’t give a shit. This evil woman is merely getting back what she helped to create.
Suck it up.
Yeah, not only that but having effectively retired with the arrival of her bete-noire Jeremy Corbyn, she also chose this issue as an opportunity to jump on another bandwagon and do what she actually does best – make a lot of hot air.
Last night’s ‘This Week’ programme on BBC1 was actually a gem, watching Michael Portillio systematically demolishing everything that Harman stood for, by pointing out how she has abandoned all the things she advocated during her years as a Blairite, to take what are very contrary views required to support Comrade Corbyn. It was hilarious watching her choke and squirm.
Portillo is her intellectual superior. Okay, not a particularly high bar, but true nonetheless.
Have I got this straight? She repeated offensive jokes while explaining why they were offensive and how she had gone after those who had told such jokes in the past. She has now been denounced by offendotrons who are too stupid to tell the difference between denouncing such jokes and telling them hoping to get a laugh. She has in the past been one of those types who would go after innocent people who had said something controversial with the view that innocence is no defense. She has now been hoisted by her own petard.
There is something deeply satisfying about seeing these people getting their just desserts. It is just a shame that they are too stupid to learn from their mistakes.
