It’s Not Just Women

HIGNFY

MP Nadine Dorries says Have I Got News For You is “too vicious” for most female guests, and does not “lend itself to women feeling comfortable”.

Ms Dorries appeared on the BBC panel show in 2012 – but said she has turned down all further offers.

She was speaking after team captain Ian Hislop said female politicians were “more reticent” to be the guest host.

It’s not just women that get the vile treatment – it’s anyone. Mrs L and I gave up on this programme years ago because it is deeply partisan and vicious in nature. Good humoured mickey taking is one thing, but HIGNFY hits far too below the belt on too many occasions. It became uncomfortable to watch and we simply gave up. Nasty programme with nothing of value to add these days. It should have been retired years ago when it stopped being funny.

  1. Ah yes HIGNFY-for those who think John Humphrys a bit tame. I’m not a fan of the programme but when they make me King of the World, Supreme Ruler Of The Universe then all senior politicians will be required by law to appear on it at least once a year dressed in pink tu-tus. In the army I believe such things are referred to as ‘beasting’…

As did Mrs P and I. It used to be great, pertinent and funny. Imho it started going downhill when Deayton was sacked for PC reasons. I’ve dipped in occasionally post 2013 and it is increasingly worse.

HIGNFY is now yet another BBC PC leftist “comedy” like R4’s.

As for Nadine, iirc she was rightly pilloried, at least she appeared unlike the “tub of lard”.

BTW: Generation Game reboot with “Mel & Sue” – I read DM review, then watched thinking it couldn’t be that bad – it was worse. Anyone else?

    • HIGNFY has just become another left-wing bullying progrmme, as if there weren’t already quite enough of them.

As for the ‘dike duo’ I never watch anything they are in.
