Who Does She Think She Is?

David Steel?

The Liberal Democrat leader, Jo Swinson, will embark on a summer campaigning blitz to position herself as a viable alternative prime minister, as sources suggested the independent MP Sarah Wollaston could join at the party’s autumn conference.

Bwhahahahahahahah!

On a slightly more serious note – this woman is on record as saying that in the event of a second referendum going the same way as the last one, she would not accept the result. So, neither a liberal nor a democrat.

Prime minister indeed. Fuck me, that’s delusional right there.

  1. Doesn’t she also have the problem that her position on Scottish independence is the exact opposite of her position on UK independence?

As for the lib dems preparing for government, at least in Steele’s day the polls were looking a little promising.

  2. this woman is on record as saying that in the event of a second referendum going the same way as the last one, she would not accept the result.

Her expressed views are actually slightly worse than that. She would accept the result if the second referendum was in favour of “Remain”, but not if it was in favour of “Leave”.

When I heard her come out with this the other day I was absolutely gobsmacked. Not that she said it (since she is yet another illiberal “Liberal”), but that it wasn’t universally derided as the most idiotic comment of the year. Lot’s of competition there though, I think.

  3. Of course, the politicians have belatedly realised that the EU referendum was a huge mistake. The idea was that the plebs would vote to remain and, as a result, UKIP would be kicked into the long grass.

That a significant number of them think that this mistake can be rectified by holding endless referena and ignoring the result until the prolls vote the right way tells you everything that you need to know about them.

    • Because she has little chance of getting into any position of power but will provide us with plenty of laughs?

      • Yes, indeed! Best not to replace her with anyone remotely capable. If there is some such person in the LibDems, which may be doubted.
