When I heard her come out with this the other day I was absolutely gobsmacked. Not that she said it (since she is yet another illiberal “Liberal”), but that it wasn’t universally derided as the most idiotic comment of the year. Lot’s of competition there though, I think.

Of course, the politicians have belatedly realised that the EU referendum was a huge mistake. The idea was that the plebs would vote to remain and, as a result, UKIP would be kicked into the long grass.
That a significant number of them think that this mistake can be rectified by holding endless referena and ignoring the result until the prolls vote the right way tells you everything that you need to know about them.
