In which I agree with Cardinal Nichols.
The leader of the Catholic Church in England and Wales blasted ministers for banning indoor religious services during the new lockdown today, demanding a U-turn to allow worship.
Cardinal Vincent Nichols said the prohibition was ‘not supported’ by scientific evidence and accused the Government of ‘a misunderstanding of the importance of religious faith’.
He’s right, of course, it isn’t supported by scientific evidence. However, they do understand the importance of religious faith, because that is what is driving their actions – just not Christianity.
