There’s an Answer to That

Reverse the lock-down immediately and apologise.

Boris Johnson believes he was bounced into ordering a second national lockdown, a Cabinet ally said last night.

The Prime Minister reluctantly signed off a new lockdown in England last weekend after being warned by Government scientists that deaths could rise to 4,000 a day – four times the peak seen in April.

The decision was rushed out with minimal Cabinet consultation after news of the warning, and the PM’s reaction to it, was leaked to news organisations, including the Daily Mail.

Then sack Sage. The lot of them. There are plenty of people out there with the necessary expertise who will do an honest job.

What’s that sound I hear?

Oh, yeah, crickets.

  1. The 4,000 per day figure was refuted almost immediately and several days before the lockdown was voted on. If MPs were doing their job with due diligence the thing would have been voted down. The litany of incompetence, stupidity and malice is seemingly endless.

    • Agreed, wasn’t it based on a base figure at the beginning of November being at 1000 per day, and as it stands it was around 300 per day?

The 4000 a day guesstimate would have required a baseline of 1500 deaths per day at November 1st.

Anyway, they’ve dug their hole now, they only know how to use a spade, not a ladder.

The government have managed to extend the concept of ‘policing by consent’ thru to ‘lockdown by consent’. When the media turns against it, so will the public. Whilst all the dross is still being published about it, people will continue to run scared.

  2. Project fear COVID seems to be far more effective than Project fear BREXIT ever was. I’m just amazed at how readily many believe these figures plucked from thin air.

SAGE has not been fit for purpose for decades.
