Not Much Point

So Penfold says the vaccine won’t stop the spread of Covid and despite having it, people should remain prisoners in their own homes.

People who have received a Covid-19 vaccine could still pass the virus on to others and should continue following lockdown rules, England’s deputy chief medical officer has warned.

Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Prof Jonathan Van-Tam stressed that scientists “do not yet know the impact of the vaccine on transmission”.

He said vaccines offer “hope” but infection rates must come down quickly.

These people are getting off on their power trip. All the vaccine will do is reduce the symptoms if you get it, presuming that it works with the strain you get, so not much point to it, then.

Meanwhile these poltroons are trashing the economy and putting lives at risk because of Covid, while ignoring everything else, such as serious diseases like oh, I dunno, cancer, heart problems, strokes… Just so long as we eradicate Covid, which will never happen.

  1. The COVID restrictions have been extended to July.

    (4) In regulation 19(1), for “17 January 2021”, substitute “17th July 2021”.

The punishment will continue until the economy improves.

  2. Meanwhile under lockdown people are literally going bonkers. We need to be released from this imprisonment.

  3. Is the problem that the politicians are now so drunk on power that they actually can’t bear the thought that the vaccines will be effective? I had thought that the doubling down on lockdowns was due to their inability to admit that they were wrong. The availability of vaccines would have given them the perfect exit strategy but they seem determined not to take it.

Elsewhere it is being stated that an effective early treatment has been available from the start but governments and the media have contrived to keep knowledge of it from the public. This sounds to me to be deep into tinfoil hat territory. Surely there must be at least one country in the world that has used this early treatment and had an incredibly low death count as a result?

  4. Will the vaccine stop the spread of the virus? = No.
Will the vaccine prevent me getting the virus? = No
Will the vaccine prevent me getting seriously ill if I do get the virus? = No
Will the vaccine prevent me transmitting the virus to others? = No.
Will the vaccine allow the lockdown and mask restrictions to be lifted? = No
So what is the fucking point?
