I’m Not Sure They Need To

Hardline Tories destroying the BBC?

Opposition parties have expressed concern that hardline anti-BBC Conservatives could use the fallout from the discredited interview with Diana, Princess of Wales to try to “destroy” the corporation for political motives.

I’m sure they do. However, they aren’t alone and they aren’t the ones doing the destroying. The BBC is doing very nicely without any help from anyone else. All those hardline Tories have to do is sit back and watch as the BBC self immolates. Good riddance to bad rubbish, quite frankly.

  1. The BBC issues a constant barrage of deliberate lies on the subject of climate change. Paul Homewood does an excellent job of holding them to account despite it being like a game of whack a mole.

Consistently biased reports by Harrabin re the Cumbria coal mine. Wall to wall anti-mine comments from Greenpeace etc, and virtually no pro-mine ones at all.
Claim that there were record numbers of wildfires and hurricanes in the US last year.
Claim that “the wealthiest 5% alone – the so-called “polluter elite” – contributed 37% of global emissions growth between 1990 and 2015″
Claim that Victoria Falls had dried up because of global heating, following the worst drought in a century
Implying that US tornadoes were getting stronger because of climate change
Claim that California rainfall and drought was becoming more extreme because of climate change.

All false of course. The climate change narrative has now been falsified by a mountain of contrary evidence, the BBC don’t seem to have had the memo.

  2. Yes i quite agree. My particular hate is all the woke rubbish they push and the fact that they seem to dislike the white population of the UK and they are not alone in that.

  3. For some reason I missed this on my first visit.

    “Hardline Tories”

Surely such creatures have been extinct since the late 1980s. Have there been some unexpected recent sightings? Or are these sightings similar to those regular tabloid stories about big cats that turn out to be domestic tabbies?

  4. Uncle Joe?
What, the Uncle Joe who formeded the Stressa front with Mussolini’s Fascist Italy?
Or the one who signed the Molotov-Ribbontrop protocol with Nazi Germany?
    That Uncle Joe?
If that’s now considered left wing, God help us all.

  5. “Use the fallout from the discredited interview with Diana”??

I thought we were still using the fallout from slandering Cliff Richard, the fallout from slandering Primark, the fallout from slandering James Dyson, the fallout from abusing Andrew Sachs, and the fallout from enabling abusers like Jimmy Savile.

It’s not like we’re short of fallout from dishonest, harmful things the BBC has done with our money.

    • It appears that the majority view the BBC in the same way that they view the NHS. Nothing that they do, no matter how bad, can shake the faith of their worshippers.

      • No. BBC nothing like NHS. BBC is loathed and untrusted by most

        Ofcom report last year revealed:
        – BBC was Least trusted of UK broadcasters (BBC, C4, C5, ITV, Sky)
        – BBC license had 15 years

Last BBC programme I watched was Line of Duty (2*)
        – A torrent, not TV or iPlayer

On Topic: who are these “hard line” Tory MPs? Brexit and Lockdown showed they don’t exist

        • Well I hope that you are right, and I would be happy to stand corrected. My perception was that people on the kind of blogs that I follow think that the BBC is cack but that the majority quite like it.

          • I think Pcar is right here. If you go onto sites such as those run by Chilli Jon Carne, there is plenty of evidence that there is a backlash.

        • – BBC license had 15 years

          Is BBC editing?

          I’m sure I typed:
          – BBC license had ~30% support

I have not paid for 15 years, but many feel compelled to

Sister in law started paying a few years ago, despite having no TV, as she couldn’t handle the extortion letters and thug visits any more

Might be genes: both are leftie, Groan reading, green vegetarians

Elder daughter is vegan and a first year brainwashed hospital Doctor – always masked even when visiting vaccinated parents or grand parents
(Should I dox her GDC number?)

Younger daughter is a meat eating, risk taking rebel

          • Just seen the video. Interesting point about younger people not watching television. At my 24yo daughter’s house the television is connected to the internet only. I assume that there are some BBC services that they can access but I seriously doubt that they watch them.

    • That would be “Your money” or “TV Licence Payers money”. It ain’t “Our money” because I haven’t watched, listened or subscribed to The BBC since about 2008, along with an increasing number of people who dump their TV Licenses every year.

  6. I looked at some of the videos on the chillijoncarne blog. If the licence collectors are claiming that people are watching BBC iplayer when they are not, and then claiming that they therefore need to pay the licence fee, then that surely must be illegal. How you would get them prosecuted when the whole establishment is in cahoots I have no idea.
