It is time for the European Union ‘to think about’ making Covid vaccines mandatory across the entire bloc, Ursula von der Leyen has said as the continent battles a winter wave of virus amid fears about the Omicron variant.
The EU Commission President, speaking in Brussels, said it will ultimately be up to member states to decide their own vaccine rules – but it is her ‘personal opinion’ that the time is right to discuss forcing people to get jabs.

Ursula von der Leyen, president that nobody got to vote for. Wasn’t she the one who, when the EU screwed up their vaccine procurement, thought that it was perfectly acceptable to just steal ours?
There also seems to be some cognitive dissonance involved with regard to Covid vaccines. Thinking that compulsion is a good idea means that you think that the vaccine works. Thinking that masks, opening windows and various restrictions on movement are needed means that you think that the vaccine doesn’t work. Personally I think that the vaccine will have a limited efficacy and that the rest of the stuff is a complete waste of time. I’m using the word vaccine here being fully aware that this isn’t really the right word but the most concise way to express my meaning.

One can imagine how Ursula Fonda-Lying’s plan will go down in the Eastern European member states, those with still enough gumption to value their relatively recently acquired freedom from another oppressive super-state.
But on the positive front, the resultant civil disorder (that’s putting it mildly) may be just the detonation required to consign the whole corrupt EU to the dustbin of history – so bring it on, Ursula.
Having just been to Prague, it seems that communism never happened. Face masks and COVID vaccine passports required everywhere. Presumably if you don’t have the latter, you are barred from huge swathes of society. I would add that I have mine, not through any fears of the virus, but to permit me to do what I want to do.
I understand this to be an accurate historical quote of a statement W.S.Churchill had prepared in case of a German invasion:

Western governments that combine malevolence with incompetence seem to be the norm now. Opposition parties have ceased to oppose and so now the whole lot of them are singing from the same demented hymn sheet. There has been a petition for a referendum on the Net Zero nonsense, the government response makes for depressing reading. Just about every statement in it is the opposite of the truth. Effectively they are going to reduce us to penury while promising millions of comfortable highly paid jobs in a luxurious green paradise.

I believe this is just a bluff on the part of the EU and countries such as Austria. It’s simply more coercion. The EU must be aware that if the unstabbed hold their ground then the EU would have to imprison 150 million people across 27 countries, and that’s impossible.
