You Should Be So Lucky

Emily Thornberry doesn’t want to date me.

Labour frontbencher Emily Thornberry has said she would not date someone who has not had a coronavirus jab as she labelled the unvaccinated as ‘selfish’.

The shadow attorney general said people who choose not to be vaccinated do ‘not care about community’.

Ms Thornberry said she believes ‘we owe it to others to be vaccinated, not just to ourselves’.

Well, that bullet is dodged then.

And still we have people blaming the failure of the vaccination on those who didn’t have it. And we do not owe anyone anything here. There is my health, there is your health and there is others’ health. Guess which one is any of your business?

On the subject of red lines in dating, I recently dated a woman who is/was a Labour activist. Stood for the parish council at one point as a candidate. She was old Labour, believed in what the Labour party was formed to represent – the old working class. Last time I saw her, the scales were slowly falling from her eyes as she realised that the left doesn’t represent her or those like her. Despite radically differing political views, we rubbed along pretty well, so I wouldn’t necessarily make that a red line. She worked as a nurse in the NHS until retirement. Her attitude to my vaccine status was a shrug. My body, my choice and all that.

  1. I love these discussions about caring for others. I usually get ‘Don’t you care about others’ to which my answer is ‘I don’t.’ I then go on to ask what do you do to help others, most people don’t do anything. They don’t like that but it usually always ends up in me being a racist for some reason even if we don’t go near colour.

  2. I’ve been vaccinated. My choice. However I would never ever want to date Emily Thornberry even if I was single. She might not like my flags LOL. What I’d like to know is what substance I’d need to slather myself in to deter the likes of Thornberry from coming anywhere near me and mine? If we can have insect repellent liquid why not a repellent politician repellent as well?

    • The narcissism is strong in that one. Personally I wouldn’t even touch it with Boris’s dick. She comes with her own repellents.

  3. Blimey i wouldn’t wish a date with Emily Thornberry on my worst enemy. Have you seen her ? Or Lady Nugee to give her her full title. Just another North London millionaire champagne socialist. Remarkable too how many are lawyers.

  4. Still they cling to the bollocks notion that the various ‘rona “vaccines” prevent infection and transmission. They don’t, as we all know. All they do is reduce severity of the symptoms.

The Collins English Dictionary (which has been on my shelf for years) gives the definition of ‘vaccine’ as ‘a suspension of dead, attenuated, or otherwise modified microorganisms for inoculation to produce immunity to a disease by stimulating the production of antibodies.’ Since the various ‘rona “vaccines” do not produce immunity, they are not vaccines in the traditional sense of the word.

      • No.. just.. no. To say that its a prophylactic treatment is, in itself, a lie. I do realise that compared to a world population of 7bn the numbers of deaths due to the so called vaccines are tiny, but one only has to look into the world of athletics to get a sense of proportion. Before these so called vaccines, reports of sports people keeling over was virtually unheard of. Yet through the 13 months from Jan 2021 to date there has been 667 athlete cardiac arrests with 414 dead, and those numbers are rising. God knows what the true numbers are among the general public.

To call them prophylactic, or a treatment at all is misleading. They don’t even stand up to the traditional definition of ‘vaccine’, and the WHO had to change its definition to make it so.

    • Actually, how can they possibly know that the vaccines reduce the severity? The knowability has to be theoretical.

  5. The biggest hole in the Lady Nugee argument is that if you care about the community your ‘care’ must be spread very thinly to cover everyone, and will therefore lack focus.

Stripped of all New Age sensibilites most people actually care very little for people further away than their immediate families and friends. The death of millions elsewhere is sad but of little import, just a statistic.

    • Well no, the biggest hole in the argument is that the claim that getting the Covid injection protects others as well as yourself simply isn’t true.

  6. Please stop calling her Emily Thornberry. She is Lady Nugee – a legally correct moniker she does not want people to know about.

  7. The shadow attorney general said people who choose not to be vaccinated do ‘not care about community’.

Would this be the same community that takes 30-40% of my income every month for the grand return of having my bins emptied every other month while paying for witless and Penfold to come on the TV and tell us we’re all going to die (Spoiler alert, we didn’t)?

Yeah, that community can fork right off.

  8. Just got back to Spain from 3 months hols in the USofA. Was refused service in Santiago (apologetically) in a restaurant as I didn’t have a Wuflu passport and due to my vaccine status, can’t get one.
Kulture shock immediately. We had been staying in Florida, which is mandate free so it’s a bit difficult to adjust back to lockdown.
