Disband It

Destroy it. Burn it to the ground and salt the earth where it once stood.

Woke NHS bosses are forcing interview panels to explain why they have hired a white person over someone from an ethnic minority, the Daily Mail can reveal.

A policy at the Royal Free in north London requires staff to compile reports justifying why the successful candidate was deemed ‘more suitable’.

They must write to the trust’s chief executive with evidence on how they scored the non-white applicant and come up with suggestions on how the candidate can improve for next time.

Frustrated staff say the system is a ‘tick-box exercise’ that is adding yet another level of bureaucracy to an already creaking NHS.

Did the successful candidate meet the standards required? That’s it. No justification required beyond that. The NHS has become a hotbed of extreme leftism. So, yes, it needs to be dismantled and a proper system put in place that concentrates on clinical excellence and nothing else. Oh, and sack the vast majority of the management – we can start with Caroline Clarke.

The report must then be sent to the trust’s chief executive, Caroline Clarke, within ten working days. Failure to do so sees them named and shamed in the trust’s monthly Workforce Race Equality progress report.

I’d say that’s a badge of honour, not shame. Fuck the workplace race equality progress report.

A senior source at the hospital said: ‘It feels like a tick-box exercise. When we discuss who the best applicant was after the interview, it’s not about their ethnicity.

‘So justifying your decision based on where they might be from does take a lot of time because you have to revaluate your decision from a completely different perspective, based on race rather than ability.’

Precisely. So stop doing it.

A Royal Free London spokesperson said: ‘We are committed to having a diverse workforce and we seek to ensure all candidates, irrespective of their ethnicity, have equal opportunities to work at the Royal Free London.’

That’s easy. Evaluate candidates on their ability to meet the standard and nothing but the standard and nothing else.

  1. “we seek to ensure all candidates, irrespective of their ethnicity, have equal opportunities to work at the Royal Free London.” – but that’s not true, is it? Not if they have to justify hiring white people.

  2. I worked for years for the local council. When you applied your personal details, sex, name, age etc were on a page that the people doing the applications did not see. They could guess age when looking at a CV and what you have done. Those who got enough points were called to interview. Then it was left to the ones who performed best at interviews as every answer was graded. I am sure the NHS does the same. Therefore everyone has the same opportunity and its the person who interviews best on the day. Though there is a knack of filling in application forms to get good grades to get you through to the interview stage.
To push women above men or coloured people above white is frankly insulting. How would you feel if you think you only got the job because of your gender or skin colour. You would not have the confidence that you were the best candidate.

  3. Dear Boss, We have appointed candidate Z to the position of Y. All candidates were assessed against the performance and aptitude criteria set out in the job description. As required by law, all other criteria – including those of race, sex, religion etc – were scrupulously excluded from our assessment. Hugs, Underlings.

    How difficult can it be?

  4. Q : “Why did you appoint a white person to this post”
A : “We couldn’t find any coons qualified to do it”

  5. It’s a racist position to say that non white people aren’t capable of getting hired on their own merits. Basically you are saying that they are inherently inferior. It’s also blatant racism to deliberately discriminate against white people when hiring. If discriminating against non white people was wrong in the past, discriminating against white people is wrong now, for exactly the same reason. With my limited experience with the NHS I’ve found it to be pretty diverse already. So even if you think that diversity should be an issue it isn’t an issue.

I think that the problem with any government run organisation is the lack of checks and balances which, in a privately run company would quickly eliminate this kind of nonsense. Either the company changes course or it goes out of business.

  6. I really will have to bestir myself and write a book called (provisionally) “The Wisdom Contained in Films”. Specifically, for this discussion:

“Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead”.

Kyle Reese from the film The Terminator though you will have to substitute “woke” for “terminator” in the above quote.

  7. “Nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”
    ~ “Ellen Ripley”, Aliens

Otherwise without complete destruction (OK, no nukes) there will be activists aching to go back to what suited them previously.

  8. ‘If a white candidate is chosen, the panel chairman must write a report explaining why they were ‘more suitable’ for the role. It does not apply the other way around.’ [my bold]

I suppose this counts as a ‘nudge’; appoint an ethnic minority candidate and move on or give the job to a white applicant and spend hours afterwards – or even days, given the ten-day window – analysing the interview, then compiling and submitting the report and recommendations.

With NHS productivity likely to be under scrutiny in the near future, how many senior staff will be willing to take the latter course and risk falling behind with their regular workload?
(Or, to take a more cynical view, how many will decide they just can’t be bothered to fill in the forms?)

  9. We’ve seen this pile of crap before and seen how it ends. The woman who was in charge of London Fire Brigade admitted that every job she got in that brigade was because she was a woman, merit has now so obviously died. Shame.
