I’m not at all worried about bird flu in Ferrets, they are not a disease vector for zoonotic diseases that cause that much concern as there are not Ferrets everywhere. I’d be far more worried about zoonotic diseases in Rats as Rats are absolutely everywhere. It’s recognised that Rats are a disease vector and has been for years which is why commercial poultry farms put a lot of effort into rat control but zero effort into doing the same for Ferrets.
