Twitter, Twatter, Twot

I’ve been on X for about a week, so first thoughts. I suppose I always knew, which was why I’d never bothered in the past, that the voices on there would be full of ignorance and stupidity. Despite the Muskovite takeover, allowing right of centre voices to be heard once more, I still see an overwhelming wall of nastiness. At the moment, this is directed at farmers who are ‘rich’ and ‘need to pay their fair share.’ The stupid, it hurts.

The stupid, it hurts. I tend to dismiss morons who use the usual buzz phrases and ‘fair share’ is one of them.

Clearly not the full shilling, but I suppose being a socialist, this is a prerequisite. Most of us grew out of it pretty quickly once we saw how it works out in practice. Anyway, I got a reasoned response.

Okay, I lied.

He/she/it hasn’t responded. Clearly they have no measured response to make. This is the standard of debate. Fuck me. Anyway, someone else did reply.

There is, however, an upside. You can go directly to a politician’s tweet and tell them they are a twat.

  1. We have to accept that there are those around us who are not safe to be out. It used to be called “care in the community”, now it’s called the electorate . . .

  2. The ability to “call out” their stupid views has a slight downside, as they know now who you are. Labour politicians are extremely vindictive individuals, and they do have a pop back via their friends! Things have a tendency to go missing or you find yourself being ousted from organisations that actually need your skills “just because”. In essence be careful Mark.

    • You make a fair point. However, the ratioing is in the thousands, so picking out individuals is going to be time consuming. I suspect that the brain dead prick doesn’t even read the comments.

    • And they love to invoke plod, whenever they can. I actually deleted my twitter account because far too many folks are getting visits (Allison Pearson for just one example) for ‘non crime hate incidents’.
Non crime ought to self-define as unworthy of police time. But not with a very vindictive left wing authoritarian government.

  3. If government spending was limited to only what was actually required then the concept of us all paying a fair share toward a fund that we all benefitted from might make some sense. The concept of a fair share is different in the lefty mind though. In reality a fair share paid by everyone would involve a flat tax rate. In leftworld if you have more money than some people think you should have then your fair share will be several orders of magnitude greater. Sort of the opposite of fair in fact.

  4. I think that you’re going out looking for trouble! I never argue with stupid people – no matter what you say, at the end of the day they’ll still be stupid.

That’s why they hate Elon. The ancien régime used to hide the unwashed masses from them.

  6. Oh oh! Methinks a four o’clock in the morning knock on Longrider’s door is in the offing and a lecture from the boys in blue with the big boots on the cards too.

I dare say that Der Sturmer is looking at the German laws that criminalise criticising Politicians and salivating.
