Owen Jones, Idiot

I see that the teenage trot is still a moronic fuckwit.

Previously state-owned services are one thing: but what about the mobile phone network? Even the very suggestion is inviting ridicule.

And for a  very  good reason. Doing so is theft of private property. Also, unlike the idiot Jones who is still very wet behind the ears, I am old enough to remember the Post Office Telephone service – and I use the term service in its loosest sense and I have no wish to return to it. Jones seems to think that the nationalised industries that epitomised contempt  for the consumer,  inefficiency and waste of the nineteen seventies were a good thing. They were not. The mobile phone companies provide a service to their customers – and mine is more than sufficient for my needs at an excellent price. I can make as many calls as I want for sixteen quid a month. I call that reasonable, thank-you very much. So Jones can take his wet dream of state theft and stick it where the sun don’t shine. Hands off my mobile phone you vile little cunt.

I can’t  be bothered to do a line-by-line dissection  of the risible crap he comes up with to justify this nonsense. Apparently, phone companies make profit from people buying phones on contract. Well, yes. People enter into the contract of their own free will. They are equally free to buy a handset at full price and a SIM separately. That’s what happens in a free market – it is not what happens in a state monopoly. So, hands off my mobile phone you Stalinist cunt.

  1. Owen Jones forgets the biggest rip-off of all, the selling off of radio spectrum. The socialists all see that as ‘free’ money, filling government coffers but in reality it is a tax on technology, an up-front cost that does nothing to build the networks and a cost that needs to be recovered from the customer.
As you say, toomuch to comment on, but I liked the bit by the professor that envisioned the networks being swamped by customers of one company while miraculously customers of the other companies have their handsets all switched off! The odds of that happening must be ten times more likely than Owen Jones ever making sense.

  2. State owned phones.

I am old enough to remember those State owned phones that the majority of people who paid for them via their taxes to prop up a loss-making inefficient outfit could not afford to have.

That wealthier people and business were the only ones who could afford them, so the less well off were subsidising the better off… and had no choice in the matter.

The same was true with, for example, British Airways prior to privatisation.

And of course the same is true with the NHS. Poorer people subsidise wealthier people who could afford private health insurance, then often cannot get treatment any way because of the long queue or rationing committee.

And those who could afford to pay for their own care, also get screwed by the queue and committee because no market is allowed to exist where they may seek an alternative.

And nobody has a choice about paying, and nobody knows how much it is costing because there is no one ‘premium’ an individual pays for the NHS, it is collected a bit here, a bit there, part income tax, part NIC, part VAT, part green taxes… deliberately to keep everyone in the dark so they do not see how much they are being ripped off for their World-Class NHS Macht Frei.

And then there is the BBC.

  3. I had thought “I need to read this” but no, Owen Jones has not improved to the level of idiot. He is still the same imbecilic prat he always was and always will be, until he finally realises that socialism does not solve problems, but multiplies them.

  4. I think disposing of the Environment Agency (completely) and the Met Office (privatise) would be my first targets.
The EA because it exists purely to implement the UN agenda.
The Met because clinging on to the Global Warming garbage colours all its work. Let them try and sell their nonsense to real customers and see how far it gets them.

  5. As has been mentioned before on various websites, Owen Jones is from a well off socialist hypocrite family and is a cunt.

  6. What I find absolutely delightful about this prick is that he drones on and on (and on and on) about Thatcher’s legacy and the destruction of the miners, and then you discover the he was about 6 years old when Thatcher left office! How clueless can you be?

If he’d had to live through Jim Callaghan’s fucking administration he’d have a different view of Labour economics. And I’m sorry Owen, but 13 years of Blairite tory-lite Government doesn’t count as living under Labour… not the sort he advocates anyway.

A further irony exists in that for all his lecturing on how the mobile phone companies would be so much better if privatised, he should really offer the benefit of his supreme intellect and experience in doing fuck-all except writing economic polemics to his own management at the Guardian, who I believe have managed to successfully make £30m-£40 losses for each of the last 4 years and now pay thier Editor Alan Rusbridger well over £1m a year…. power to the people!
