All Lives Matter

Apparently, the above title is racist or something. I probably need to check my privilege or some such idiotic bullshit.  Sometimes the SJWs overreach themselves and come up with idiotic bollocks that is too much even for their natural allies to stomach. And so it is with Laura Barker in the Groan today.

Barker’s attempts to justify a bunch of self-righteous leftist activists interfering with the daily lives of citizens is treated with pretty much universal contempt below the line of her risible article.  And rightly so. The BLM movement in the USA might have some slim justification – apart from the obvious scumbags actively breaking the law, there have been genuine cases of black people shot in error by the police. Of course, anyone who points out that all lives matter – which they do – is immediately treated to a Twitter storm because they are racist, whereupon they are expected to apologise. No, I won’t be apologising. I’m not on Twitter, so  you can storm as much as  you please, I will be  oblivious.

In the UK, trying to claim that Mark Duggan, a scumbag  who was carrying, is some sort of black martyr won’t wash – he was a criminal and suffered the consequences of his actions, tough shit. As commenters point out below the line, figures quoted in the article are nonsense, and the majority of black lives taken before their time are at the hands of other black men, not the police. So this is just another piece of posturing. When that posturing stretches to blocking roads and stopping people going about their daily business, it demeans the free speech principle – you have the right to say whatever you wish; you do not have the right to a platform, and you do not have the right to be heard and you very much do not have the right to disrupt other people’s lives in the process.

Black Lives Matter is a movement the UK needs

The UK needs nothing of the sort. Seriously, fuck off with your black lives matter bullshit. All men are equal under the law. BLM is an  inherently racist movement, so, no, we do not need  it.

  1. Quite. BLM is just another Marxist agitator group fanning grievance/victim culture.
However LR we certainly DON’T have the right to say what we wish in this country – very far from it indeed – especially due to New Labour. Though I’m sure you know that, I’d just thought I’d point it out, as the statement in the piece says you do! You should have the right to say whatever you wish – outside libel and slander and direct advocacy of violence – but UK criminal law has tragically been perverted, and is now a long way from limiting itself to that.

  2. It’s a misnomer, isn’t it – Black Lives Matter – because it can be taken either way. Depending on their viewpoint, they should have called themselves either “Black Lives Matter, Too” (if they are interested in justice, but feel they’re not getting it, which is fine), or “Only Black Lives Matter” (which casts a very different slant on it, and, I suspect, would indicate more clearly the sentiments of many of the main movers and shakers behind this copycat movement).

Perhaps someone should start a campaign called “Non-black Lives Matter, Too” (note the “too”) to highlight the possibly – err – deliberate omission from the BLM campaign name.

IIRC, Juan Charles de Menezes wasn’t black …

    • I feel that the misnomer is deliberate and it makes it easy for them to castigate anyone who says that all lives matter, because they can claim that they are wilfully misinterpreting the meaning. Actually, I am doing just that, to make a point.

  3. I wanted to add something but you’ve covered it. There is something quite off about ‘all lives matter’ being somehow not good. Strange convolution.

  4. All lives don’t matter. Terrorist lives don’t matter, the more of the bastards who die the better, hopefully without taking innocent lives with them. The lives of criminals who break into homes don’t matter, if they are killed in the course of their crimes, so be it. Rapist’s lives don’t matter. Pedophile’s lives don’t matter.

By the above definitions, Mohammed’s life (great dollops of shit be upon his evil carcass) doesn’t matter.

    • That would make the post title somewhat cumbersome…

On a more serious note, your point is covered with my mention of that shit, Mark Duggan, who got precisely what he deserved.

  5. Couldn’t read the whole article, but the comments were impressively against the commentator. Makes you glad to be British even in this day and age, and from guardian readers too.

  6. I’m thinking of starting up: ‘White, middle-class, middle-aged men matter more than most’. What do reckon the response will be? I’m sure I’ll be applauded and lauded (steady FS) for providing the necessary ‘balance’.

  7. O by the way, I like the fact that you have a ‘time window’ to edit comments. Gives me a chance to alter my stuff so I don’t write a complete load of bollocks.
