Here We Go Again…

Bullshit on steroids.

Theresa May’s Downing Street declaration that the Finsbury Park terrorist attack was “every bit as sickening” as Manchester and London Bridge and description of Islamophobia as another form of extremism marks a distinct and important change in rhetoric from the prime minister.

Sigh… A phobia is a distinct condition. It is an extreme, irrational fear and loathing. It is so extreme that it produces physical manifestations. A dislike of Islam – even an extreme one – is not a phobia. There is no such thing as Islamophobia. This is a construct designed specifically to silence dissent. A dislike – even an extreme one – of Islam is perfectly rational as it is a medieval death cult on the one hand and a totalitarian ideology on the other and is incompatible with enlightenment values. In saying this, doubtless there are those who will accuse me of being radicalised, of being an extremest, of being Islamophobic. Indeed, according to these idiots, I am of the far right, for daring to make such comments. I am none of those. I am a rational observer pointing out the obvious.

While politicians continue to deny the reality, the Darren Osbornes of this world will continue to fester. A revenge attack was entirely unsurprising – other than that it had not happened before. Unfortunately, this is exactly what the Islamic extremists want – a tit for tat war. Osborne has given the enemy a propaganda coup.

  1. I don’t approve of his action, BUT…..

As so many Mohammedans have said after past (Mohammedan) atrocities.

  2. The actions of radical Islamophobes should not be used to condemn the peaceful Islamophobe majority

    – Allum Bokhari, tweeting the situation with great panache

  3. When people accuse me of being Islamaphobic, my response is “if you are not Islamaphobic you’re not paying attention.” I accept your objection to the word, but am happy to use it in the hatred rather than fear of Islam sense. When it comes to Islam, what’s not to hate?

    • I object to the word because it is an artificial construct designed to stifle dissenting voices. A dislike of Islam is far from a phobia; it is rational and logical.

    • The word should be Islamomisia but then that doesn’t have the same ring of mental illness about it.

  4. As a dog returneth to its vomit so May’s going on about internet regulation again as well. As if that didn’t cost her votes last time.

There should be a convention against long term Home Secretaries becoming Prime Minister – they carry way too much baggage.

  5. D.O. reportedly a drunk, with relationship problems. When someone’s ready to blow, any target or excuse will do.

  6. Frequently used sig on forums & emails:

Islamaphobia a lie: Phobia – irrational fear. Fear of muslims – rational fear.

  7. The same point goes for homophobia. It’s just a label to smear you and shut you down.

Osborne may have been the first, but he is by no means the last. Mark my words
