Oh, FFS!

When are we going to stop funding these people?

The NHS’s public health boss is urging local councils and shopping centres to ban visits from Coca-Cola’s promotional Christmas trucks because of sugar’s key role in rotting children’s teeth and making them fat.

Duncan Selbie, the chief executive of Public Health England, has criticised the soft drink giant’s annual PR stunt, in which 14-tonne lorries decorated with fairy lights and fake snow visit towns, cities and landmarks around the UK to advertise its products.

Selbie’s comments come as PHE research found that most of the places the trucks plan to visit before Christmas have above-average rates of children with tooth decay or obesity.

Jeebus, do these nagging nannies ever stop? The answer that needs to be given in big fat hairy letters is: “Fuck off!”

  1. @LR +1 on last two sentences.

Duncan Selbie, the chief executive of Public Health England, is urging local councils and shopping centres to ban visits from Coca-Cola’s promotional Christmas trucks because of sugar’s key role in rotting children’s teeth…

Duncan is on the “ban happiness” outrage bus.

    1. Acidic drinks, like those “healthy fruit drinks” in little cartons are main cause of tooth decay in children, not sugar. Mr Selbie, talk to some Dentists eg Mrs Pcar

    2. Being happy & excited seeing Coca-Cola Christmas lorry does not force one to drink Coca-Cola or cause tooth decay & obesity.

    3. PM May, Sack Duncan Selbie and close Public Health England

  2. Apologies. I tested the link that I have just posted and it takes you to the utterly dysfunctional hull Daily Mail Website. The story that I was trying to link to was about a perfectly normal four year old girl that the Joy Haters have declared to be overweight. If you are interested enough, it is possible to navigate your way to the story. It appears that the 5mm dusting of snow that has just arrived qualifies as some kind of extreme weather event. I really can’t understand why the MSM have lost every ounce of their credibility.

    • BMI is weight in Kg divided by (Height in meters)squared.
As the child is only 18 kg and 1 meter tall this gives her a BMI of 18.
      That’s under weight.
These people are not only kill joy busybodies bit incompetent as well.

      • The BMI scale is flawed and only gives vaguely meaningful results for those of average height. Consequently it is completely unsuitable to use it for measuring children.
