No they didn’t. They were always a stupid idea. The only surprise is that it’s taken so long for the manufacturer to get the message. It competes with the Sinclair C5 for fuckwittery.

Nah. Not since the 1971 AAN10 Mark IV. I always fancied the 1960 Frogeye Sprite AN5 myself.

When I see a new invention I often try to guess whether it will catch on. The question that I always ask myself is, ‘Is it genuinely useful? Does it actually solve a genuine problem?’ Often the new thing is prohibitively expensive, this can kill it but often rich people will buy it until it can be mass produced more cheaply. I don’t think that the Segway ever passed the sniff test. Not particularly useful and, like the C5, you look like a pillock riding on it.
