Nah…

I don’t think so.

If you have a sore throat, runny nose and a headache there is a good chance it will be Covid, warn UK researchers.

Yeah, quite probably true. After all that’s what this thing has evolved into as we would expect. Nothing to see here, move along.

The Zoe Covid study team has been tracking the pandemic using feedback from the general public, and estimates half of people with cold-like symptoms actually have Covid.

They describe an “explosion” of Covid cases over the last week, driven by the new Omicron variant.

It’s the middle of winter and lots of people have colds. Well, blow me down, whodathunk it?

About 144,000 people a day are catching it and then feeling unwell.

For most, Covid is a mild disease. Some get no symptoms at all.

So not a problem then. No need to panic.

But it can still cause very serious illness in some people, including those who have not been vaccinated.

Can, maybe, possibly. But unlikely.

If you have cold-like symptoms, take a Covid test, says lead scientist Prof Tim Spector.

No. Absolutely not. Testing and then reporting the results merely enables the scaremongering, so I will not play this game. I will not enable their generation of a climate of panic. If I get a cold, as I did last winter (which could have been covid, of course. Entirely possible), I’ll deal with it as I usually do and carry on – as I usually do. I will not, absolutely will not, play their game.

It’s the middle of the flu and cold season so an “explosion” of flu and cold symptoms is normal. Tim Spector can bugger off. I’m not doing any tests.

  1. Happy Christmas Mark. Thanks for helping to keep it real; you are appreciated more than you will ever know.

  2. I’ve got a couple of boxes of the lateral flow testing kits, but they are for my own use at my own direction and I would not be reporting any test results, good, bad or indifferent to the UK government, since they clearly cannot be trusted and would simply abuse the information as they have been shown to do.

I’ve had the sniffles a few times over the past year, but each time a result comes up negative, so I’m a bit dubious as to how much is being put down to COVID-19 when it’s actually just a cold / sniffles / usual bullshit.

  3. The one good thing to come out of the covid fiasco is that most citizens of western civ have realized that the government is not their friend. To put it mildly.

The Latin countries have known this for a long time, but it seems to be a bit of a surprise to the Teutonic countries, including the UK.

  4. A belated Happy Christmas, everyone. It’s reassuring to see that we can continue to enjoy, uninterrupted, our share of the scaremongering bollox put out by our self-professed betters. They, in their pursuit of our indoctrination, apparently haven’t taken the day off. Fuck them all with tinsel on . . .
