This is What Happens

When you enable mental illness…

The woman accused by a transgender Starbucks worker of being ‘transphobic’ says the whole row stemmed from her using the word ‘lady’ to describe a member of staff without realising that they did not ‘identify as a woman’.

Vanessa Thomas, 55, was seen on camera being screamed at by the trans store manager near the ferry terminal of Southampton, Hampshire.

Fortunately, this store manager has been sacked. However, the incident speaks to a deeper malaise – that of entitlement. That this person felt that he could get away with such behaviour, despite the shop having CCTV cameras tells us who the oppressed really are, doesn’t it?

I think though, that as this cult gains ever more exposure, ordinary people will start to push back. See, for example the Bud Light boycott. It may take a while longer yet as the whole thing has become so entrenched over the past decade or so and is underpinned by the long march through the institutions that has been going on for a lot longer than that.

But, yes, scenes like this hitting the mainstream may yet be the death knell, when these entitled spoiled brats realise that they cannot force the rest of us to enable their delusional and psychotic behaviour. This one deserves jail time for the assault on the man filming.

Apparently police have received a complaint. Let’s hope they, too, have finally come to their senses with regards to what ignoring this sort of behaviour could lead to…

  2. Apparently there a Starbucks workers talking on Tik Tok about being misgendered at work, in support of this person. If I was a Starbucks exec, I would treat that as a list of people who no longer want their jobs

    • Starbucks moved remarkably quickly in canning this Troon. They’ve moved much faster than I suspect that the would have moved in the past and this swiftness of action might have something to do with how pissed off the general public appears to be getting with self entitled Troons like this one. In the past Starbucks might have brazened this out and made noises about ‘transphobia’ but now the general atmosphere is different and not acting quickly might hurt the company’s bottom line because of boycotts of a Bud Light variety.

      • Transphobia, lol, it’s not really an irrational fear, just like a few other identitarian ‘phobias’.

  3. Application form with pronoun section filled in goes straight in the round file. Since you’re vicariously responsible for your employees, you’d think they’d realise they’re unemployable, certainly front of house in any case, and they mostly look kinda weird.

Maybe that’s the whole point though, boo hoo, society won’t accept or employ me, therefore I
    Must be paid.

    • I’ve seen some videos from the USA where employment law is not as restrictive as it is in the UK with employers and HR types saying something similar. Basically a pronoun in a CV or a job application means that the candidate gets immediately binned on the grounds that a person so up themselves as to put ‘preferred pronouns’ in a job app or a CV is more likely to be a self entitled pain in the backside for the employer than someone who does not have pronouns in their documentation.

      • Even in the UK you could do it, you just fly under the radar and find another reason not to interview them – another candidate with more experience or qualifications, for example. It’s doable and I’d do it if I was hiring.

        • May have been Timmy’s place that I saw it, but a blind test was run (identical applications, one w one w/out pronouns).

          The expected occurred.

  4. It is reported the row began because Starbucks refused to take cash for a cup of coffee. What is the matter with them? As for a real phobia it is a terrified fear of something, not a dislike. A phobia is a mental illness. I really get angry when people misuse the term phobia by putting on to words like this. Also using cis and trans outside of stereoisomerism should be a crime.

    • “…a real phobia it is a terrified fear of something…” They’re mistaking contempt for hatred.

    • Anyone using the term ‘cis’ to my face will automatically mean that I will dismiss anything else they have to say. Possibly prefaced with the remark “Talk to the hand because the face ain’t listening.”

  5. “No, you’re wrong. I don’t identify as transphobic.”

How would that go down as a response?

  6. I cant help wondering what might have happened if the man had not been filming it all on his camera and then put the film on twitter.
You say that there are CCTV cameras in the cafe, but unless the woman had made a formal complaint I fear that Starbucks would have ignored the incident and that weirdo manager would still be in his job.
