You’d think, being fact checked, someone would either slink away and say nothing or acknowledge that maybe they got it wrong. Nope.
It takes but a minute or two to bring up streetview, or whatever it’s called, and look at the junction. It’s a standard stop junction. The road markings are pretty faded, but the sign is there in full view, so not a fake (unlike Wanksy).
At the time of writing, Martina appears to have slunk away. Martina isn’t the only one in the comments below the video who is trying to make the same point – that it was Wanksy that put the sign up in the first place, when a moment or two checking shows this it be false. Wanksy has form for defacing property, why should this be any different?
Then there’s this:
Some years ago, I discussed the pretentiousness of the art world – Voyager gave us a spectacular display of pompous, patronising, pretentious cack in the comments and I’m pretty sure that if he was still around, he’s be saying something similar. This cockwaffle is right up there with the best of them. Wanksy isn’t an artist, he’s a vandal. Or a very naughty boy – take your pick.
Do you think that Banksy could be persuaded to do some of his art in Singapore.
The mere act of removing this is acme of performance art.

Let’s hope any court appearance (and possible jail time), can also be described as performance art.
