First Dog on the Moon Claptrap

This cartoon in the Grauniad (where else? Ed) seeks yet again to engage in the usual misandry that disreputable organ is renowned for.

Apparently old white men (who else? Ed) are freaking out about Greta Thunberg. As strawman arguments go, this one is deserving of a CAP subsidy (Better get in quick – Ed). Freaking out? Really? More like refusing to be lectured by a know-nothing sixteen-year-old who has absolutely no life experience and is incapable of detecting or understanding nuance. This is perfectly normal behaviour for adults when presented with a teenage temper tantrum. We do not enable it, we ignore it until the child in question has recovered some composure. The children of this world do not get to boss the adults about. That is not how it works. And I’m damned sure that this response is not confined to men – white, old or otherwise.

I don’t know about you, but I found the whole circus incredibly creepy, like something from a John Wyndham novel. As far as the cartoon is concerned, it is drivel of the first water. Not even a semblance of reality – or humour – in it, which is what usually makes cartoons amusing. It’s just a tawdry attempt to attack the out group. Puerile claptrap. I don’t know which cretin produces this utter crap, but a new career as a street cleaner beckons, because political cartoon commentary is clearly beyond them. Moron.

  1. I read about half of it before giving up. Neither funny or clever. Who cares if Greta is her own person or is being manipulated by others? Either way she is wrong, about a great many things.

As an aside, on the subject of rising sea levels, someone has recently posted a picture of some German ships that dates from WW1. Along side it is a picture of the same place now. I will post a link if I can find it again.

    • Going by his picture, he’s clearly someone of limited development. He’s what, in his fifties, and cannot construct a logical argument without gross misrepresentation? And a mainstream publication is prepared to publish such obvious crap? Clearly they are as intellectually retarded as he is.

  2. It appears that “The Guardian” is the natural home of morons: at least they (The Graun) are offering some sort of employment to the otherwise unemployable, where they’re addressing a very small and still diminishing audience.

  3. Well, they have been employing Steve “can’t-tell-the-difference-between-nasty-and-funny” Bell for decades.

  4. I’d assume it was a spoof if I did not know any better. Surprised the author can even turn in his monitors at work. Echo your comments on Steve Bell as well. As funny as a cancer diagnosis
