Sucking Out the Joy

When Cromwell took over from Charles I, he imposed his puritanical ideology on a reluctant populace. Even Christmas was banned. The restoration was supposed to put an end to that.

Now we have his ideological descendants to deal with.

People should avoid talking while eating in restaurants, researchers have warned after concluding coronavirus can be transmitted more than 6 metres away.

Indoor venues should also install a “wind partition” between customers or consider putting them in separate rooms to prevent the spread of infection, it is claimed.

Christ, these people really do suck the joy out of life.

  1. Where is the evidence? Track & Trace shows zero to tiny spreading in hospitality

Most who contract are in: Hospital, Care Home, Home

    Oh, more: could, might, maybe

    This sums it up:

1 “US Panic Paper surfaced” – 2020 News reports on a disturbing guide written in 2010 by Glen Nowak for the US CDC and National Immunisation Program on how to create public panic to encourage people to get vaccinated against flu

    2 “Belgium´s shops were shut `as a coronavirus shock tactic´”
Times report on the Belgian health minister´s recent admission that “shopping does not really involve any risk” and the closures were purely for psychological impact. Well, that was worth killing the high street and destroying thousands of jobs

  2. “Corona virus can be transmitted more than 6 metres away.”

It can be transmitted in a number of ways but mostly it isn’t, it doesn’t appear to particularly contagious compared with other, admittedly milder, bugs that have done the rounds in the past. The only person that I know personally that has had it is my daughter who works in a school.

    • John,
All that will happen is that it will be announced that due to “evidence of widespread misuse” of the Covid vaccination card system, it will require backing up with a “more robust system”, involving verification using personal ID, and some kind of database….
A back door to ID cards.

      • Perhaps, but making the Government look at their options and ask themselves “Is this the hill we want to die on?” is more likely to result in their backing down than this creeping totalitarianism.

  3. I don’t know personally any person who has tested positive, that is contracted, SARS-2 Coronavirus.

    • Nor do I and those I know don’t know anyone who has either

Looks like the Liverpool Mass Test revealing only 0.3% positive (not ill) about correct – not what Gov wanted

Hmm, wonder why Boris, Hancock, PHE, Gov’t, MSM have gone silent on mass testing and Operation Moonshit?

  4. Dr Evil
I know at least three who have …
I have a horrible suspicion I’ve had a very mild dose of it ( No loss-of-taste/smell f’rinstance ) with a revolting hacking dry cough that took 3 weeks to go away – in February/March, but my immune-response system is obviously well topped-up.
Nonethelss, I’m being careful ( will be 75 in 35 days time ) – OTOH, I really do wonder – if bleeding gyms can open, why not PUBS?
Reminder – no microbes or viruse get on well with alchohol at all, how sad.
