They Won’t Let Up

Despite absolutely none of the covid restrictions working, the charlatans want them back. Well, fuck off.

Economically-crippling Covid restrictions need to be brought back immediately to save the ‘dying’ NHS, ministers have been told.

Then let it die. Like a phoenix, there will be an alternative to rise from the ashes. It is not up to us to save this monstrosity, for it is there to save us. If we have to have restrictions on our lives to save it, then it isn’t fit for purpose. Kill it, put it and us, out of our misery once and for all.

No10 has batted away calls to bring back pandemic-era curbs in response to soaring infections, with up to one in 20 people now infected.

So what?

But in a scathing editorial demanding action today, the editors of the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and the Health Service Journal (HSJ) — two of the country’s leading health publications — accused Boris Johnson‘s Government of ‘gaslighting the public’ about Covid’s threat.

That’s some serious fucking projection there. The only gaslighting going on here comes from these charlatans. It’s a bad cold. People are not dropping in the streets and we need to live with it.

Dr Kamran Abbasi (BMJ) and Alastair McLellan (HSJ) said: ‘Now is the time to face the fact that the nation’s attempt to “live with Covid” is the straw that is breaking the NHS’s back.

Then let it die. I don’t worship this bureaucratic nightmare and will be happy to see it go and be replaced with something more fit for purpose.

‘The heart of the problem is the failure to recognise that the pandemic is far from over and that a return to some of the measures taken in the past two years is needed.’

It was over two years ago. Since then, it’s been endemic. And, yes we do need to learn to live with it. We cannot keep going on crippling our economy, destroying lives and livelihoods to satisfy the fetishisation of the NHS.

Examples of curbs needed included a return to wearing masks in healthcare settings and on public transport, the reintroduction of the £2billion-a-month free testing scheme, WFH where possible and ‘restrictions on some types and sizes of gathering’.

Yet despite all of this anti-scientific bullshit, it still spread.

They didn’t set out what gatherings should be curbed. But previous limits enforced in England saw just six people allowed to meet indoors, weddings limited to a handful of guests and festivals cancelled.

I will ignore them, as I did before.

Despite alarm bells being raised about the current situation, other leading experts have insisted Downing Street’s decision to axe all of the final restrictions in April was correct.

Yes, it is correct. We must ignore the doomsayers and tell them to fuck off.

Yet only a third of ‘patients’ needing care primarily ill with the virus itself. The rest have incidentally tested positive, NHS figures show.

Deaths and ICU rates have remained flat despite the uptick in cases, with fatalities sitting at roughly 30 a day.

Top scientists say this is because the variants behind the current wave — BA.4 and BA.5 — are mild, and that sky-high immunity rates from vaccines and previous waves have blunted the virus’s threat.

Clearly we don’t need evidence, merely waving our arms about and crying ‘wolf!’ will do. It’s done. We learn to live with it and get on with our lives.

  1. As always, in a bolloxfest, those with the most to make are shouting the loudest. Screw them one and all along with the NHS they rode in on.

  2. In other news (i.e. completely made up) dentists insist everybody should be given an electric toothbrush, garage mechanics insist that only trained people should inflate tyres, the EU bans domestic incandescent light bulbs in favour of horrid CFL bulbs (oh, that one is true).

We are onto LEDs now, do keep up.

    • “We are onto LEDs now, do keep up”

Which do seem to be pretty good in comparison. But I think it’s only a matter of time before some environmental disaster is pinned on their usage.

      • LEDs are completely safe, efficient, long lasting and work on a tiny fraction of the power that CFL or halogen uses. They only have 2 characteristic faults:

1 – The light from a LED is directional which means a narrow viewing angle which is why they work best in spotlights (GU10). Reflectors help but not much because of the lack of a 360 degree beam angle. That being said, there are many work arounds such as setting individual LED chips in a clear resin/silicon bubble which acts as a magnifier and bends the light in all directions. The lens diffusion is also a key factor. There are many different types of LED bulb so you must choose carefully which one is best for your requirements.

2 – It surprises me that only a few people know this, but although a LED works on extremely low power, it is a current driven device (as opposed to voltage), and for a fraction of a second after switch on, the LED will consume current on an industrial scale. A LED light has to be switched on for some time (no idea how long) for it to break even with halogen on current consumption.

But there is little doubt that with their ultra-low operating consumption, practically zero heat generation and long life (more often than not, and I mean basically always, when a LED light fails, it is not the LED chip itself at fault, but the electronics in the driver circuit), LEDs are the future. I don’t know if you ever read about the great lightbulb conspiracy but LEDs seem to have broken away from that idea, though they still have a stated life span. The conspiracy and what it lead to is very interesting.

    • Have you read the comments under that article? Very heartening indeed.

This also demonstrates that there is really no need for protesting a tyrannical government’s diktats – that’s like begging the abuser for mercy. If everyone just ignored them and carried on with normal life, the tyrants would be powerless. I refer as example to an old video from Larken Rose, The Tiny Dot.

Hello Charlene. This is Jocasta at the Health Centre. We have a bit of a disaster in the toilet department. To put it bluntly there is shit gushing out of the lavatory bowl.
Oh, dear, Jocasta. Is anyone seriously injured or in mortal danger?
Err, no, Charlene. At the moment it is just very inconvenient.
Right Jocasta. We have your number and sometime tomorrow between 8:30 am and 5 pm Mr Dick himself will telephone you and give you a telephonic consultation. Orl right? Please have a note pad and pen handy.
    Click.

  5. “fatalities sitting at roughly 30 a day.”

Against a background of how many who die of all causes? We all have to collect our tee shirt and finishers’ medal one day.

“Top scientists say this is because the variants behind the current wave — BA.4 and BA.5 — are mild, and that sky-high immunity rates from vaccines and previous waves have blunted the virus’s threat.”

For once we seem to have a “top scientist” telling it like it is. Apart from his misplaced faith in the “vaccines” that is.

On the health service, most of the cases are so mild that people are dealing with it themselves, so what’s the problem? Our local surgery, which is better than most, still requires mask wearing when you visit. I don’t know if they still have signs up telling victims of the plague to piss off. I’m going for a blood test this afternoon so I’ll let you know.

    • Update.
I’ve now had my blood test. As you approach the building you see posters in the windows giving the usual list of Covid symptoms and the legend “If in doubt take a test.” Seperate poster, if you have had a positive test don’t you dare bring your diseased little self anywhere near us.
